His suspension marked the second consecutive year Collins violated the same policy. Jets final playing-time stats: Secondary — Jamal Adams (1,102 snaps/99 percent), Marcus Maye (1,065/95), Buster Skrine (1,012/91), Morris Claiborne (920/82), Darryl Roberts (467/42), Juston Burris (336/30), Rontez Miles (124/11), Terrence Brooks (93/8), Robert Nelson(41/4), Marcus Williams (38/3), Rashard Robinson (20/2). Analysis: Adams and Maye ranked third and fourth in snaps among NFL rookies, per ESPN Stats & Info. Claiborne set a career high for snaps. That Robinson trade isn't looking too good.

Jets CB Rashard Robinson was arrested on Dec. 15 (10:17 p.m.), per police records — the same day Mo Wilkerson showed up late for a meeting and was benched for the final three games. No, that wasn't a good day for the Jets. Robinson wound up playing two days later against the Saints, but not on defense, only special teams — eight snaps. Robinson was charged with possession of a marijuana-laced candy. This happened five days after the Jets played in Denver. One source speculated that he may have purchased the product in Colorado, where pot is legal.

CB Trumaine Johnson is a solid fit for the Jets defensive scheme. With the long frame to play press technique (6-foot-2), Johnson has the skill set to challenge routes. And that's a boost for Todd Bowles' system in New York. Be aggressive with pressure and lean on the secondary to win in man-coverage.

Jets CB Trumaine Johnson, he of the five-year, $72.5M contract: "It's exciting. I was speechless when I finally gave my agent the green light. It's the Big Apple. New chapter, new beginnings and I get to add to this already great defense. ... The last two years, I've been tagged. It's my first time going through this process. It's quite an experience. You lose sleep and your agent is calling you every five minutes. But it worked out and I'm happy to be a Jet."

Former Saints S Kenny Vaccaro, regarded by many as one of the top remaining free agents, is visiting the Jets, a source confirmed. He already has met with the Colts and Dolphins. The Jets don't have an open starting job, but Vaccaro would bolster their depth, especially with Marcus Maye coming off an ankle scope. Vaccaro, a first-round pick in 2013, is a good player when healthy, but he has missed nine games over the last two seasons.
