I was thinking more along the coaching lines (since 5 years is an eternity in the NFL)..  On the player front you are forgetting the fact that he left them with multiple first round picks that year, which outputed Ray Lewis and Ogden amongst others...  So yea, there's that.

Anyway, I just think he did a pretty under the radar job with a team that was clearly in all sorts of disfunction.  It was of course not his best work (which will always be remembered as the NE years and his days as DC with the Giants) but its not fair to say that it was a poorly executed job either.

In football circles, he was always super respected, despite what the fans/media thought at the time.

he did leave them w/ a top 5 pick b/c he did such a crappy job in 1995. he made a trade to get that 2nd pick and Ozzie picked Ray lewis not BB.

he makes BP look like a good drafter. he was respected as a great football mind as far as X's and O's, he was not respected as a good Coach or talent evaluator.  That all changed when Brady saved his career and he has developed into a great HC but pre Brady his HC career and talent evaluation was a bust.
