A Brian Dawkins clone.  LSU said he was the best leader they have ever had in the program.  Day one, he is the second best defender we have.  No more guys late to meetings or slouching about.

This pick as about the future.  Pryor was never getting his option picked up.  Adams will be one of the top defensive players in the league in three years.

He plays SS. There are no best players in the league at that position.

they have until May 3rd to exercise the 5th year option.  If they do then they will be paying the suckass Pryor $6 million in 2018.  NFW.  This is Pryor's last year with the Jets. Lets just hope Adams isn't Pryor II

Trade SR and CP for picks

BPA..and yes safety is a need for the Jets, among many other needs.

Cant ever satisfy this fan base.

Sure you can.

Draft offense for a change.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

congrats to those happy with the pick. Just don't bitch when we have trouble scoring over 10 a game next year.

the NFL is a offense driven league. We build this team like its 1975.

That's not what he is. Your best hope is Chancellor 2.0. You know, what Pryor was supposed to be.

Not true.  Via Louis Riddick:

J. Adams could do everything M. Hooker can do IF asked to play that role. The same could not be said the other way around. #context

2. Jamal Adams, DB, LSU

NFL comparison: Karl Joseph, Tyrann Mathieu

  • Explosive athlete. Breaks on the ball phenomenally. Exemplifies the best attributes a safety can possess. Diagnoses plays and reads offenses very well, both against the pass and run. Play recognition is outstanding. Best in the class by a defender by far. Initiates contact. Attacks the play, doesn't let the play come to him. Has experience playing man, performed well. Can play in the box and stop the run along with the ability to play deep coverage. Shows rare versatility to play deep in coverage, off man coverage, and in the box. Plays deep coverage very well. Excels in short-interm Vocal leader, future team captain. His on-field presence and demeanor cannot be understated. His mentality will push him Very good tackler, takes good angles. 33 defensive stops as a safety. Smart football player. Positional value prevents him from the top spot. Biggest knock as a prospect is his tendency to be over aggressive, both against pass and run. Experience will help him there.

Bowles got his Mathieu now lets see what they can do with the rest of the draft.

Lol no. He doesn't have the range Hooker has. He's a strong safety, he can play free safety. But he's not a free roamer, doesn't have that insane speed and acceleration that Hooker has.

I like Adams and like the pick okay but i really wanted top trade down get another two picks or another next year and take advatnage of a deep draft.

That would have been my first choice too but it's always tough to blame a GM for not trading down when you don't know what other teams were offering for the pick. Honestly, I think it hurt the Jets that there were so many talented picks left. Other than the crazy CHI trade, I think teams want to wait until the guy they want is one of a couple left to see how far down they'll go. Now McCaffery a RB supposedly going late first just went Top 10. Crazy!

Jets just drafted their defensive captain for the next 10 years.

Everyone complaining about not drafting offense where do you go?

You reach for talent to continue rebuilding or do you draft BPA and get some damn playmakers on this team on both sides of the ball.

You have to start somewhere.

I don't understand; you don't reach in the 1st (except maybe at QB); wasn't going to get a lot as there was a ton of talent available; got #2 or #3 player in the draft. BPA all the way. Better we reach like in the past?

Next year, maybe the BPA will be offense.
