I'm happy with this draft. The Jets were not 2 picks away form winning the superbowl. It was all about getting pieces and positioning themselves. I think they did that. I'll give it a B+, maybe just a B because I'm disappointed at no extra OL, and we could have maybe used a better edge rusher/OLB. But overall it seems solid.

B overall

Love Adams, like the two WR's in three and four, Jeremy Clark is an interesting flier - the only really confusing thing to me is that we chose absolutely no offensive lineman or edge rushers and drafted a second safety over Dalvin Cook.  But I like Maye as a player and think he'll be good, I just can't give it an A.

How do we grade a draft before anyone has played a game with their new team ?

Give a grade immediately after so we can look back at which one of us were the cool-aid drinking fools or sorry-old-plane haters that sh*t on everything.  But you're right, other than that, its meaningless.

It felt like that time I bought an REM album and immediately found it that objectively sucked, but a few pretentious ****boys tried explaining to me that it was good only to find out that those same ****boys didn't like it either but just said they did in an attempt to appear learned.

We waited too long to trade back. i love the tall long corners though. The RB seems like a stretch  - but that pick is totally a scouting based pick. They saw something in this kid. BUT  - we drafted good kids that want to smack people in the mouth. Hungry.

Just have a hard time justifying 2 S picks in the top 39.  Maybe it works out, but swap out Mayes for Cook and I'd give this an A+.

But I ain't an NFL GM.

I think the off field stuff plus a medical scared them about taking Cook too early. Remember Terrell Davis  - 6th rounder!

Was it the one when they didn't have a drummer? Or the other one? Or the one immediately before or after that one? Or was it...wait, what are we talking about?

Gave it an A-. Two real meh things were doubling down at safety and not getting an OL ( although this wasn't a good OL draft)

On the other hand, he got a TE, 4 secondary players, 2 WRs, a pass rusher and a running back.

What makes me hopeful about his late picks is that in the first two years that he has been here, he has gotten some value from  late round picks.

(Deion Simon, Charone Peake, Brandon Shell etc.)

Tough draft to grade. I really like Adams, Hansen, and Leggett. Luke warm on Stewart, Donahue and Mcguire. Don't get Maye, Clark or Jones.

Maye is a good player, but he's almost TOO interchangeable with Adams. It could be a really good pairing, but it could very well be susceptible to the long game. Hopefully I'm wrong and they end up a stellar pair, but I would have preferred a rangier safety than Maye.

C+/B-?

Just gonna chill in here to see which dude is the first to load up the thread with gifs of Dylan Donahue wrecking shop vs a community college squad.

I just like to watch guys that own cats pretend that they have seen more than a handful of any of these players,  and pretend know how that will translate to the pro game

I think history will judge the Jets very unfavorably on the players they passed on in the third round.

They were supposed to get lower round picks for Sheldon and Pryor rather than trading down,  They likely held out for too much.

FWIW you should add the 2018 5th rounder to this list.
