The ONLY undefeated coach in New York Jets history

Can you name him?jets.jpg?resize=275%2C183

He was undefeated in his entire career, as the New York Jets head coach. In his one day tenure, he never lost a game.  Your answer –  none other than Bill Belichick.

He would take over the job after Bill Parcells retired following the 1999 season. Naturally, the question is why after one day as the head coach, did Belichick, at his introductory press conference write his resignation on a napkin.

Legend has it, Belichick wasn’t happy about a head line in a New York paper, 3 years earlier, while he was an assistant under Parcells in New England, that read, “Jets settle for Belichick.” This in reference to when New York was trying to lure Bill Parcells away from the New England Patriots, Parcells was all the the move, but his contract with the Patriots wouldn’t allow it. So, the Jets in their own mind went with the next best choice, Bill Belichick. Belichick obviously wasn’t ready to let ‘bygones, be bygones,” so, he went back to New England to coach the Patriots. And we have all seen what New England has done over the past 17 years. But, Belichick will always be undefeated as the Head Coach of the New York Jets.

If you don't count the losses that aren't his fault, it's Rex
