Wow.  So it was critical?  Like Sam Darnold isn't coming here unless we get rid of all our good players critical?

No it was critical to building a new team culture and leadership base....it needs to become Hacks, Jamals and Leonards team now...not Mangold, Marshall, Decker and Fitz. It is very very critical.

Decker has value.  But Maclin has more.  Ozzie only considered Decker until the deal with Maclin was sealed. So no, Ozzie wasn't dumb.  Had the Maclin deal fallen through, he had Decker on his short list of alternatives.  And the amount he woould have paid Decker would certainly have been less than Maclin.

When Ozzie called the Jets, he knew what Deckers value was. Decker wasn't going to negotiate. If you barely have any market, you don't make a sh*t ton. Well, unless it's Fitz n Macc

Marcus Wheaton also got the same deal as Maclin. Are you seriously going to tell me that those two players are far superior than Decker? Hope not.

Maclin, when healthy, is better than Decker, when healthy.  Sad thing is both have injury histories.  Maclin allegedly played most of the 2016 season with a "torn/pulled" groin.  He said so himself today on the SeriusXM NFL network in an interview.   Wheaton never showed much in Pittsburgh.  Not sure why anyone would give him anything close to either Decker or Maclin's numbers.
