Andy Reid is a tad overrated imo.  He has been part of things like this in the past where he gets more power.

Andy Reid is a great head coach.    Not so much as a GM.  Basically is great when someone gets him the groceries, but is terrible when he does the shopping himself.

I wouldn't even call him a great coach, he is still one of the worst in game coaches i have ever seen if his team gets behind.

It's called having a game manager at Qb.    What can you do as a coach with that type of Qb.   Not much, and looks worse when you need that Qb to win the game.     That you can't put on Andy Reid- without a doubt the best coach in the Afc West.

Onboard him as President of Football Ops ASAP. Let him decide after the season what he thinks of everything.

I think despite some good things Mac has done it appears that the job is too big for him.  The Jets need more football brains.  Bringing Dorsey on to oversee the operation would be a good move.    KC has one of the league's best rosters.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Mahomes?

They should do it, Maccagnan would probably, secretly, welcome it, but it won't happen because Woody has been trying to sell the base on the presence of a Master Plan. Hiring Dorsey would expose them all as clueless.

It must be tough having to go from claiming to plan to having a Master Plan.

Dorsey has been an integral part of successful programs from day one of his post playing days.

Why even think he would he even consider joining this stumble bum guided rats nest franchise we root for?

It would be like asking Vidal Sasoon to work for the NYC public schools system and tasking him to start a "get rid of the head lice" program.

I think a VP of Football Ops job is the dream role for any GM. They get to write their own ticket with zero interference, generally. Imagine being a GM and having to explain your decision-making to a halfwit like Woody Johnson.

Guys like Dorsey usually have multiple options unfold and then follow up with a well thought out career move.

Woody has created a situation wherein when this type exec hits the open market they may take his phone call to be polite but that would be the extent of it.

Nonsense.  Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont.  Woody has created nothing like this.  GMs move to unsuccessful teams all the time.

Of course they do its how they build their rep however what already successful exec would want to come to NY and be handcuffed to Woodys decision making?

Hence the Bradway Tannenbaum Idzik Macc parade.

Amazing how fans want a GM fired by another franchise. Can we let Mac do his job? The idiocy just doesn't stop.

The key is this: When we fire Mac and hire Dorsey, who is going to replace Dorsey in two years when we fire him?

Didnt he just draft Mahomes?  He traded this year's and next year's 1st rd picks + this year's 3rd.  Interesting.

Maybe he didn't want to do that and Reid insisted on getting Mahomes and Owner sided w/Reid.

Who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

Drafting Mahomes and cutting Maclin looked like rebuild moves. If Reid wants to stay the course and try to win now, you could see why there'd be the power struggle.

This situation is weird.  GM's rebuild.   Coaches win games.  One theory is that Reid revolted re the trade, Mahoney and Maclin.

My guess is that the Hunt's wanted to win a Super Bowl.  They will always fill the stadium.  Smith is not doing it.  This move is Jet Like.

I think the view on the board is that Dorsey does not replace Macc.   He is his boss, replacing most of Woody.

One thing I can say about the last 3 pair of 1st and 2nd round draft picks-they lack coherence, integration and vision.
