JetCane
I guess it's safe to post here. j/k I dont keep up with all the soap opera developments, and I skip over the homo jokes, which basically leaves the football posts. Honestly, this message board culture is crazy, but I'm addicted to it. I'm not gonna tell any of you to give up your anger at JI or whatever- it's not my place. So, carry on if you must. But there are some good football posters here, so i will continue to lurk. Peace.

JetCane
Your guys played a good game and needed a bogus flag ten seconds after the game was over to win. We now call you taint U.
Ranger
JetCane, what is your opinion of offensive coordinator Dan Werner and offensive line coach Art Kehoe? Ole Miss just hired them for their football program. I am hearing good things, but this in only from Ole Miss fans. Other Cane fans feel free to provide your opinion also. SlugORama99
Ah, sour grapes. Do I detect a sore loser?
JetCane
Naahh, a sore loser is someone who destroys his college career, then blows it in the pros so he pulls a gun on people in an alley behind a bar. Can you say Maureen clarice?

Can you say Maureen clarice? Granted, he did waste a potentially great career and probably cost OSU another National Championship or two. But, let's not start comparing rap sheets. U guys have some pretty undesirable characters coming out of your program as well. Not as bad as the Criminoles, but you're up there!!

I wish Art all the luck in the world. I like him. Here's the thing with AK- it was his unit that got destroyed by taint in the Fiesta bowl. He has not produced real good offensive lines for the past couple of seasons. He seems to select poorly in the recruiting process, and takes what we call projects, who dont seem to develop as he had hoped. But I think a fresh start will be good for him, and I like that Orgeron hired him on. As for Werner, his playcalling has been an F. He sucked as a QB coach. He did not make good in-game adjustments as an OC, but truth is, we really arent sure how much of it was him and how much of it was being handcuffed by coker's stale system. Maybe a fresh start will help him too. Ole Miss may have become my SEC team to root for. slug- there have been many more arrests of taint players and psu players in the past five years than anywhere else! We know about it, and the cover ups. Coker runs a clean, emasculated program. he sucks.
Ranger
Thanks JetCane. I am not sure what to expect from him. He didn't seem to do alot with the talent he had at Miami. But he couldn't be any worse than what Ole Miss had. Noel Mazzone blows!

The Troll
We're still talking about bowls from 2003? Who did Miami face in the 2005 Peach Bowl and what was the outcome? Must've slipped my memory...
JetCane
I have no problem giving credit where credit was due, Troll. I was impressed with how LSU played and congrats to them! I was in Atl for the game, and got along quite well with the Tiger fans. As i mentioned to Max in a pm, I stayed at the Miami team hotel and knew something was up from hanging around them a couple of days. Didnt know what it was until the following Monday, when four assistants were canned. I am really surprised the defense blew chunks in that game, and I take nothing away from LSU- they played their A game that night. I think they get a big bounce from this win and will be a top 5 team next year. p.s. I wasnt the one who brought up the past, but I'm always up for discussing CFB. Needless to say, that game totally shocked me. I was expecting an ugly, smash mouth type of game like FSU and Penn State would later have. Instead, we saw LSU at their absolute best and Miami at their absolute worst. Should be really interesting to see how that game effects the teams' immediate futures. Hopefully, it can serve as a springboard to bigger things for the Tigers like the 2005 Rose Bowl was for Texas.

faba
Jetcane- can you give a scouting report on Winston the tackle from Miami? ist round material from what you have seen?
JetCane
If you think the Jets boards are chaotic, you should see some of the Canes boards since that game (although the first 48 hours after the game I was in an alcohol induced stupor, so I didnt get on the boards til i got home). They would have fired coker but his freakin buyout was too high right now, so they made the assistants the scapegoats. Miami will not return to greatness until after Coker is gone- mark it down. I like the way LSU played, and now they have two decent QBs- Flynn and Russell. That's going to be interesting.
JetCane
faba i think Winston will go towards the end of the first round, based more on rep than anything else. He definitely has potential at right tackle- not sure about LT. He was inconsistent, and was coming off the surgery- he missed plenty of assignments, but still has potential. He isnt as strong as he should be for his size- his bench is woeful. Needs work, but good potential.
