Check it out: Hello, NFL

Gang Green Girl

I think it is a league wide notion that Woody has no clue and Terry has less of one. They are feable and weak and always get beaten to hell in situations like this. GM's must salivate when the Jets who are already inept become desperate.

If you are not familiar with Scott Dierking's writing, please take a few minutes and read this one.

It is a real good read. Thanks once again Scott!

That could be the best article (even in the mainstream media) written about the situation.

Dierk and I have gone back and forth for years now, but I'll tell you what, the guy knows his damn football.

Very well done Dierk. =D>=D>=D>

The Hunts have always been scumbags, if quietly so. These guys tried in the 1970s to corner the market on silver. It wasn't the first or the last of their financial shennigans. Just because they aren't in the papers like Al Davis or Daniel Snyder or Jerry Jones doesn't mean they're qaulity people. And yet the NFL hasn't ever called them on it.

Scary part-the Parcells/Bellichick Pats/Jets stuff is more like a dysfunctional family squabble than this. This is much worse. As sh*tty a coach as Edwards is and as happy as many of us are to see him gone, this is dishonorable and disgusting. Coaches are management. Edwards and the Chiefs were allowed to break a coaching contract. And the Chiefs counted on the Jets and the NFL to do nothing. And tehy counted on that based on Johnson's reputation and by trading and Edwards' friendship with Tagliabue.

Real men can do business on a handshake and they don't break contracts. And the Chiefs and Edwards are dishonorable scum. Can't wait for the first Chief star to hold out for more money or demand a trade. Edwards-who's part of management- can say nothing. And he was planning this, which is why he was so solicitous of Abraham when he didn't com into camp all summer.

I thought Edwards was a bad coach. This episode exposes him as an even worse human being. What and empty hollow low lying cur. But he fits right in in KC.

I defended Herm for years. I bought his act. I bought it all. Above all, I was proud of his character.

Needless to say, I know how wrong I was. So many people were right about Herm and I just missed it. I guess my judge of character is slipping in my old age.

It is dirty what he did. Just dirty and it isn't right.

Short of a Super Bowl, the sweetest thing I could imagine as a Jets fan is the Jets beating the piss out the Chiefs some fine day with the whole crowd razzing the POS. Preferably in a season the Jets a 14-2 and the Chiefs are 2-14. And not in a playoff game. I don't ever want to see the Edwards Chiefs any where near a playoff game. Whigh given his dearth of coaching talent shouldn't be a problem.

And let's remember the NFL's position on nefarious activities-

Hunt family's insider trading schemes-OKAY!

Betting a few dollars in a casino on an NFL game-EVIL!

Edwards should feel right at home.

I hate to interrupt all your fun just to talk football, but Scott Dierking wrote a kick-a$$ article on the Front Page. And the content is FREE.

Scott great read. What kept getting thrown around is "well is Herm really worth more than a 4th?" It is totally irrelevant. The Jets have a team. The Jets have a coach the team seemingly looks up to. Said coach is under contract for two more years. That's that.

So many were prepared to give Herm a mulligan for this season, as no one could've led this ragamuffin starting squad of 2nd & 3rd stringers (and worse) very far. So he could've returned to the team with (in the players' eyes) his reputation intact & they'd listen to him without a cynical ear. But once KC "officially" comes into the picture, and this coach does not come to the mike and say "I do not want to go anywhere & and won't go anywhere else unless I'm fired," this bond between coach and player is irreversibly broken. He cannot coach them anymore, no matter how much they may like him. They'll all know that he truly wanted to be somewhere else.

And all this was done with impunity. The 4th-rounder was "negotiated" as compensation, but the league seems to have zero concern that all this transpired, in the public eye no less. This wasn't a "well, everyone was agreeable" situation.

A team does not risk these tampering charges unless it is already known that the coach wants to make the move. No one is that stupid to believe otherwise. Sometimes there needs to be judgement (from the league) based on overwhelming circumstantial evidence. You can't always have the video tape, the phone records, etc. This was a done deal before it began. The only thing there was left to do was to wear down Woody to take his GM's "suggestion" that they take what they can.

It's dirty. It's been done before & there was punishment from the league. Now Tags is showing that his own buddy is above the league, and above league rules. And it stinks.

Scott.

Excellent article. Most likely, 100% true. Cimini hints at some of this stuff, so where there's smoke.......................

The NFL offices are a sham. The Jets are considered a low class citizen in the NFL circles. If this was the Raiders instead, not only would Al Davis be raising a storm, but the NFL would step in a do something.

The Jets? For Edwards (a non-Parcells)? Forget about them.

It ain't right.

Heard 2nd hand that in media circles Spermie is considered such a joke that the NFL under/over lines for wins by NFL teams for the 2006 season is greatly anticipated. If it's 9.5 or above, the line might move a full game down because there figures to be so much money on the under for the Chiefs.

If you see her posting at like 2pm that means she is working overtime.

Here is an odd situation:

TO made a stink about his contract, tried to get it re-done and was basically villified by the press.

Edwards, certainly to a much quieter dgree did the same thing.

The difference-TO, with his machinations actually had something to lose by pissing on his employers-His salary, as a player of course, was not guaranteed.

Edwards, even though he was making a supposed stink, really had NOTHING to lose. If he angers Jets management, so what, if he is fired he still collects his contract. Even better, he basically knew he had a higher paying job if that were somehow the case.

KC and Herm orchestrated this thoroughly. No matter the results, Edwards was going to get paid. BUT, the better deal for him was to create a disruption, and receive the bigger payout.

I can't believe the NFL is so mum. It is so wrong.
