Can You Imagine If Mangini

led the Jets to a Super Bowl victory. I know it is far fetched. I know I am crazy for even thinking it. But let's say that he does this in 3 years.

He will be 38 years old and will have the WORLD at his disposal. WOW. It is frightening to even think about!

The world at his feet...until he misses the playoffs at some point after that and TB gets ripped for hiring a coach before he was ready for the job.

Could you imagine if Mangini pulls a Parcells "man in the mirror" and leaves us at the altar when BB finally steps down from the Pats? The Jets could just be a stepping stone for Mangini.

I have all the hope in the world for our new HC, but this thought lingers.

Conversation last week in Foxboro:

BB: Eric, I think it is a good move for your career to take the Jets job and learn on the job.

Kraft: I always agree with anything BB says.

Mangini: But I want to stay with the Pats. They are a winning organization and the Jets are one of the worst organizations in the entire NFL. Hell, they haven't even played in a Super Bowl in 37 years.

BB: Listen, I'm only going to hang around here a few more years. I just want to win a few more Super Bowls before I hang it up.

Kraft: Eric, you have the the Pats HC after the BB leaves and I will also make you the highest paid HC in the NFL. Just go get a few years experience with the lowly Jets.

Mangini: Man, I can't wait until I come back to New England.

That's what my gut says. Of course, you just HAD to glorify it a little, no?

Can you imagine if he crashes and burns...fans like Warfish...well, you fill in the blank.

Ok, I'LL fill in the blank, since I am a "fan like Warfish":

If Mangini crashes and burns I will be very dissapointed, very unhappy at however many down years it takes for such a crash to occur, but I will not be overly suprised. I will openly cheer at that point for the termination of Terry Bradway as our GM (to be fair, I'd cheer for that now too). I will root for Mangini's replacement to be a long-served, experienced Offensive-minded coach. That coach could be a former HC looking for a second shot, or not, as long as he has ample 5 to 10 seasons+ experience at running at least half a quality (consistenly top 10 in NFL, or top 5 in college if we go that route) program (i.e O-Co or D-Co experience). If the hire were today, a Charloe Weiss, Al Saunders or if D-minded, Monte Kiffin would be top choices in a Warfish World.

What I won't do is gloat, or brag or do anything else I would more expect from a Pats fan (the majority of whcih would have to eat their own words, as they too seem to think Mangini is special). In fact, I will only discuss my accurate forcast if someone were to question me on that issue specifically, or try to make a case that I do not know football.

Fish, what is your definition of "crash and burn"?

Are you expecting instant results or building a solid foundation?

Shoudn't you ask the poster who first made the "Crash & Burn" statement? [-X

To me, "Crash & Burn" means:

--4-12 in 2006 with minimal to no improvement over 2005.

--6-10 in 2007, again, minimal improvement and/or bad decisions, bioth on field and player personell.

-Anything less than 8-8 in year three, 2008. After that, fired.

That is what I can a "Crash & Burn". I get he's young, and I get that many think a full rebuild is now needed (although it's kinda funny how few thought that when it was Herm they thought would be coach in 2006). But these are excuses, Mangini was hired to bring us back to competitiveness. If he fails to do that within three seasons, he is to me "Crashed and Burned".

Since you asked, and I answered, I think it only fair for YOU to tell US what you would expect from Mangini, and what would qualify as "crash & Burn" in your mind here?

.....it's nice to dream, isn't it? Be careful though - many Jets fans have an issue with dreaming. Somehow, the dream because "reality" and their world becomes one big delusional mess.

Oh my.

Whoever could you be talking about, Garb?!! :-k=D>

Can You imagine if PFTX stop driving Jets fans crazy and go to a Fatriots message board instead of bullying the Jets ones. [-X
