statistic guru
Eric Mangini issued a gag order yesterday. This should prevent Heimerdinger from using the media much like his previous boss Herman Edwards had done a few weeks back. The issue with Heimerdinger boils down to principle and money. The fact the Jets interviewed Texans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer and quarterbacks coach Greg Roman yesterday means that Gary Kubiak (Denver offensive coordinator) will be going to Houston and Mike Heimerdinger will be going to Denver. The problem was that Heimerdinger was not only trying to save Denver money by having the Jets pay the difference in salary, but also was trying to bully everyone in to the process. The Jets were not a team last year. It is becoming apparent that Donnie Henderson had his clicks and Mike Heimerdinger had his clicks. The team was more in the middle of 2 egotistical maniacs fighting for control and you couple this with Herman Edwards
RSJ
I think that this is a Mangini decision all the way. It makes sense to keep Dinger in his contract even if he is not happy. If Dinger wants a HC job he better succeed here with the Jets. Otherwise have fun as the WR coach for the Arizona Cardinals next year after Denver fills its HC vacancy.
