Garb
Now this upsets me: Blurb about a Super Sunday pre-game show ABC's show, Williamson says, will include features on the 25th anniversary of the release of the U.S. hostages in Iran and the first Super Bowl after they were freed, how ex-Oakland Raider Jack Tatum is coping with diabetes that led to a leg amputation and a look at a football league for "physically challenged" kids in upstate New York. Hmmmmmmm......just wondering how Darryl Stingley has coped with his paralysis over the past gazillion years. I hear that Stingley is still waiting for Scumbag Tatum's call. Now, I do not wish any man to lose a leg.....but please tell me why you would "honor" such a dirty piece of pooh with a Superbowl piece? Disgusting!!!!! That's the way most Soviets feel. It's ok. I think we should all feel sad and guilty the next time they fly over. I mean we could be some 3rd world sh*thole like Bangladesh but all these idiots citizens seem to want to live in an advanced and prosperous society. What kind of craziness is that? bman
Well the US economy is based on war and military hardware so I guess it goes hand and hand..I just personally feel that emblems of War and nationalism have NOthing to do with Sports... Maybe I'm a wuss, but I get goosebumps when the F-16's or Blackhawks do a fly over. Why is it disgusting to feel pride in your country? I find that hard to understand. bman
Having pride in your country is great...Isn't there July 4th?? I just think its kinda nutty showing off war hardware at footballl games...after all, many people dont like the war machine that country has become..anyway this is quickly turning into a poltical thread.I just think sports should be something kept pure and untainted by politics, warfare and all that crap. Have you even heard about the ways Tatum has tried to capitalize on his "famous" hit? For example, he set Stingley up for a TV gig Tatum was doing. Tatum was going to visit Stingley for the first time - wanted it to be televised......was getting paid for it......never told Darryl about it......Stingley cancled when he found out the real intent. Jack Tatum is SCUM. I agree however, no need to waste any emotion on this sub-human. He will certainly get what is coming to him in HELL.
PatsFanTX
did Stingley ever complain about a dirty hit? no in fact he said just the opposite. 13, I'm sure you've seen that play many times. The ball was overthrown well past Stingley when Tatum leveled him. It was a friggn' preseason game for cripes sake.
JetCane
That's the way most Soviets feel. It's ok. Points for that. Best patriotic SB moment: Whitney Houston doing the anthem. And I definitely got goosebumps when the Blackhawks cruised over the Meadowlands before a game, though I dont recall which game it was.

It was a friggn' preseason game for cripes sake. and Pennington broke his wrist on a blitz IN A PRE SEASON GAME...whats your point? as I said I feel bad for Stingley, I remeber watching him as a kid...but its part of the game...John Lynch makes that same exact play today and hes a great hitter.. and Garb, I am not trying to make him out as a nice guy...I saw that program talking about his diabetes and him losing a leg, etc. etc....and he said he hadn't spoken to Stingley and didn't plan to...hey, some people have a heart and some don't...He will pay for it in hell as you suggested
Garb
...incorrect. That hit is now "illegal", is a penalty and can lead to ejection.
