I never complain about blown calls. It comes down to execution. That being said -- if that is not a reviewable play then you might as well get rid of instant replay. Because it is useless.

It was close. But at least take a friggin look at it again. Gime me a break.

I dont even think it was close. That was textbook forceout

This is Jet fan whining. We didn't deserve to win that game with our 6 total points on offense against a 1-5 team. You don't just expect a monster play on 4th down, with the refs giving you a questionable call to give you the game. If we were in the same situation, I'd be pissed if the refs ruled a force out there.

We're a 4-4 team. If we don't beat the Pats in 2 weeks we're a 4-5 team, and all this playoff hope is pretty much gone. I knew we weren't going to be an 11-5 team, but I thought we'd get that other loss later in the year sometime, not this early.

Especially if it was Kellen Winslow Jr., then it would have been delt a TD because HE CROSSED THE PLANE INBOUNDS!

Lets see if I get this right, On Wednesday, the NFL will send Eric Mangini the following:

  • a WHOOPS, we goofed & gave the game to Cleaveland letter
  • a Coupon for 15% off at the NFL shop
  • a Copy of the reciept from Romeo Crennel's donation to the NFL Referres "Bill Bellichick foundation!"

I can not believe the Douchebag Penguins officiating today!

I didn't harbor any real hope for the PO's. All I was really hoping for going into the season was for "productive losing" peppered with some good wins, something to build on, have Mangini and crew get themselves acclimated. Getting greedy because we love our team, who can be faulted for that. Me included, because who'd a thought it. Still, it's a disappointment. Meh, you never know. We go 8-8, 9-7, it exceeds expectations and I can live with that. I'm willing to be patient for the right reasons.

Oakland beats Pittsburgh. Again, any given Sunday.

Chad had a bad game, he had plenty of opportunities on the last 3 drives. The defense played great in the 4th Qtr. I have to hand it to him at the end though, he avoided that rush and made a great play to Baker, and I think it was clear he was pushed out. But oh well, 4-4 at the break still exceeds pre season expectations.

What were the defensive adjustments that helped? At one point they said Rashad Moore was in for KVO. Was he at DE or NT with DRob at end? Or was that typical dumbass announcers not knowing Bobby Hamilton's number? Did they get out of the straight 2 gap 3-4, because DRob got a ton more penetration in the 2nd half? Was it just the wind?

Also, Barret came in some when Dyson went down. I was surprised he's even active.

Yeah. It's why you can't rely on calls to save you. Winning the game outright, it's the only way. Or so it seems. The last time we had a truly horrendous call go our way was against Seattle when Testaverde had the ball as close to the goal line as he did to the East River. Heh, ironically enough, it's why Instant Replay came BACK, as we all well know.

It's very frustrating. Not up for review, I think that bites in itself.

This is why watching the games on TV just sucks. And when they are too cheap to put it in HD it is even worse.

I saw Barrett make a tackle. I though, wow it would have been nice if they mentioned that he was in there. And like you said, some insight as to what the Jets were doing differently against the run in the 4th Qtr would have been appreciated.

It's worse than that Max. Didn't get the feed in Italy this week. I had to watch the game on a teeny screen on the lap top because the sopcast stream is too slow to use full screen. OTOH, thanks JetNation and TBrady, I can at least watch the game on a teeny screen. Before this I had to listen to the internet radio feed (thanks JetNation again) or, heaven forbid, not see it at all.

That's the point, if they had ruled it a TD & that he had been pushed out, the booth would have reviewed it!

By making it an Incomplete, no review could take place & it make it look more of a fix than a win by the browns!

So Jetsfile, how can this be "ANY GIVEN SUNDAY?"

You should have watched porn. At least that would have been constructive.

If it was ruled a force out TD, they couldn't review it in the booth. We'd have the TD, and probably go into OT. You can't review that play either way, its a judgment call on the field. It's like calling a strike in baseball, you don't review it, the refs decision overrides whatever reality may be.

I said the call was disgraceful. In no way did I agree with it. I also said winning outright would have averted being at the mercy of part time hacks. Maybe you didn't read back far enough. Trust me, I'm just as upset as everyone else, but no matter how much I carry on, I'd be sitting here just as scr*wed as when it happened. And, I'll be just as scr*wed tomorrow.

Fact remains, these guys have got to be taken to task. The league HAS to invest in the schooling and training required, make the leap to full timers. It's out of control and beyond fixing in its current state. Subpar officiating in a game that is all ABOUT officiating. No more excuses.

EDIT: Any given Sunday, surely I don't have to explain that sentiment. Oakland beat Pittsburgh as I already said. That also goes for getting robbed. We just seem to be better at that part, by and large.
