LionelRichie Posted May 11, 2005 Share Posted May 11, 2005 i have been a jet fan all my life. and like the other fans on this board have lived through disappointment after disappointment. every offseason there are superbowl hopes and dreams come openning day which are usually crushed b/f halftime. i remember openning day '96 (i think) when we got so humiliated by the broncos that i knew the season was over right there. i think we gave up like 9 or 10 sacks that game and lost by 40. through it all i have stuck with them and every year can't wait for the openning game. i for one can't wait for the 05 season to get here. i truly believe the jets have a shot at winning it all this year. for the first time since 98, when we were the best team in football for a 25 minutes b/f vinny blew out hi achilles, the jets have a legit shot to win every game on the schedule. there are no mismatches out there. the 2005 jets have as much talent as any team in the league and have more weapons on ALL 3 sides of the ball. a new agressive OC, a young, fast, agressive d coming off a top 5 season. vilma, coleman, jabe, drob, barton, ellis, pennington, coles, martin - all stars or have potential to be stars. even herm is coming into his own as a head coach. all of the pieces are in place for a monster year. 2005 - no more excuses - the year of the jets. i can't wait for training camp. There are a few big question marks (Chad's health, is Adrian Jones ready) that will be answered in Camp. Big things this year. Big things.
