Ted Ginn Jr.... impressive

I agree 100% with you though about the 40 times. They do put too much stock in the combines. If a guy runs a 4.4 or a 4.5 it is football skills that will make the difference. A corner can run a 4.2 but if he can't cover anyone that speed isn't going to help.

I like the LB that the Jets took in the 2nd round. That is a football player. Screw the #s, he is a football player.

Good luck to Jesse, I hope he makes the team. Tell him we are rooting for him!

Whole new story at this level but i think "Jumbo Package" is what the staff had in mind when they brought him in. At VT they use a similar offense as the Colts. OC Stinespring visited them in the offseason about 4 years back and it's been mostly 1 back sets since. So it limited his PT to 3rd and 2 or less, and Goal line. We'll see what happens...most UDFA's must make it on ST. They may like his toughness as he played 2005 with a broken wrist, and last year in GT game he busted his jaw, and knocked 2 teeth out...missed 1 series. We're hoping....

After watching that highlight reel i dont think that was justifiable evidence to make him worthy of a 1st round 9th pick at all. That video was 90% return specialist, and %5 wide receiver and %5 trick plays. We do the same stuff with Brad Smith, but at least he has better hands than Ginn.

And Scott Dierking has a point too...The problem with Ginn is very simple. If you chuck him at the line, and get your hands on him within the designated area from the LOS, he has a lot of problem breaking that contact and creating seperation for himself.

he is not physical enough. Penn State did this against him 2 years in a row.

The defense wont give Ginn all that time to dance around the field.

From an offensive perspective, i think he's screwed. His skills don't translate over to the pro game. I didn't see a single route run in any highlight videos besides the deep cross or the go route, which a 3 year-old can run. Like other posters have said, he really needs to improve his WR skills if he wants to have a shot to play in this league.

I'd go as far to say that in that video, from an offensive perspective, Troy Smith looked alot better delivering the ball than Ginn Jr catching it.

i dont follow college at all so i was impressed with the video. then again it was HIGHLIGHTS, meaning it was his best plays. he looks like dante hall or a baby santana moss. thing is, i see him having a problem shaking injuries considering he's still wearing a boot from that championship game and its been 5 months

Yes you have that seen that kind of break away speed...his name was peter warrick

No. Warrick didn't have Ginn's speed.

The Dolphins did good to pass on Quinn. Taking Ginn at 9 was probably a reach, but he should be an effective player.

Like I said before, I wouldn't think its a bad pick IF Quinn was off the board. He's very talented, but nothing more. Nothing special in my opinion.

Once again we are in total agreement. Nothing special about Quinn except that the new Dolfags HC has known the family for 10 years, whoopeee !!
