PatsFanTX
Patriots sign S Antuan Edwards June 6, 2005 FOXBORO, Massachusetts - The defending champion New England Patriots added depth to their secondary Monday, signing unrestricted free agent safety Antuan Edwards. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Edwards started a career-high 13 games in a 2004 season split between the Miami Dolphins and St. Louis Rams. He recorded 65 tackles and 10 passes defensed, both career bests. The 28-year-old Edwards spent the first five years of his career with the Green Bay Packers after being the 25th overall pick in 1999 out of Clemson. In his rookie season with the Packers, he recorded four interceptions and the only touchdown of his NFL career.

PatsFanTX
WE just found the next all pro to come out of New England secondary- the magic of Bellicheck I remember watching a Packers game on Monday Night Football where he had a pick and a bunch of real good hard hits. Decent signing.
Garb
I think it is safe to say that the great Troy Brown won't be playing defense this season.
faba
I was being sarcastic obviously Patsfantx- but Green Bay secondary was not very good - so I would not get too excited about this on face value

Look, Edwards will not be a starter (unless Harrison or Wilson goes down with an injury) and was just signed for additional depth. I also think he was a punt returner as well. The Gun Of Bavaria
TX, is it legal to use the terms "DB" and "Depth" in the same sentence as the Patriots after the past year?
PatsFanTX
TX, is it legal to use the terms "DB" and "Depth" in the same sentence as the Patriots after the past year? Rumor has it BB is bringing in 27 CB's and 23 SS/FS's to camp. No way he gets caught short two years in a row.

RichardSeymour
It looks like the Pats have created a shortage of DB's in the World League and the Arena league. You'd think that, but only three of those guys (Ventrone, Charlton, Poteat) are "has no business making the roster" type guys. The other 14 are all legit NFL depth at the least. PatsFanTX
and we're talking about the Patriots because? Because your pathetic team got their a$$ kicked by the Pats 5 out of the last 6 times they played. You would think that any move made by the Pats would be of interest to a Jets fan. Did I post that PennyBoy has a noodle-arm or that Hermy is an idiot? Nope, I posted a statement of fact (Jets have lost 5 out of the last 6 games to the Pats) so how do you consider that the "same old BS"? Man 13, you're getting pretty sensitive in your old age.
