  1. 1. Which TE would you take if you were to start a franchise today?

    • Tony Gonzalez
    • Todd Heap
    • Antonio Gates
    • Alge Crumpler
    • Jeremy Shockey
    • Other...list who

Antonio Gates, for resurrecting a dead franchise. The sky is the limit for this kid. He's 24 years old, never played a down of football in college, and still dominated. Wait until he improves his blocking and route-running techniques, and he will eclipse Tony Gonzalez as the greatest TE of our generation.

Why isn't Kellen Winslow II listed as an option?

Seriously, though, I'd take Gates. But I'd like to see him prove that last year wasn't a fluke before I build a franchise around him.

And, who the hell voted for Shockey (besides blackout)? The Giants are already building around his over-rated ass and how is that working out for them?

tuff choice. If Winslow had proven something I would have went with him because he is really young.

I hate antonio gates, he's a punk a** bi***.

todd heap is good, but he's not that fast.

shockey sucks

crumpler is short

tony gonzalez is getting up there, but he's what just 29 I think

I'd go with Heap or Witten.

Just because you hate him doesn't mean he isn't damn good. Gates is by far the most talented pass-catching TE to come down the pike in NFL history, and the sky is the limit for how much he can accomplish. When you put a WR in a TE's body, you're bound to move mountains and make an offense explosive. Gates did just that, without even playing a down of football in college for Chrissake!

sorry 80. But Tony Gonzalez is definetly a better pass catching tight end. His hands are better. And lets see Gates do it for a few more years before we start wiping his butt and flossing his teeth.

Why should we wait a few years? The question said "which TE would you take" NOW!!! Gates is young and has far more potential than Gonzalez at this juncture.
