Brenjetsfan
Passing Tips on to 2005 Rookie Class 06/15/05 The advice I have for the rookies coming in this year is the same advice Ray Lewis, another University of Miami alumnus, gave me last year when I was a rookie. He gave me a lot of great tips for on and off the field. He told me to stretch a lot and make sure I was eating and resting properly. The NFL regular season is 16 weeks and that is a long time. Coming from college I had never had that long of a season before and it definitely can take its toll on you. Ray told me to be thinking about Week 16 or Week 17 when you're pushing for the playoffs and you have to win that game. Or when it's Week 20 and you're in Pittsburgh in overtime and you have to step up and stop the run. You need to have the energy and drive in those situations. So I'd say to the rookies that they should rest their bodies and really try to take care of themselves. That's the best advice I got last year when I was asking Ray and some other former Hurricanes for tips.
