Watching abc news. Apparently the jets will pay the full bill for the stadium as they have raised the 300 mill needed . Intresting

Really? I have not heard that. I know they were considering it but if that is true.. coolness.

GO WOODY!

GO JETS!

WE WILL COME BACK TO THE PROMISE LAND!

Bullsh*t. Even Bloomie has given up on the Manhattan Disaster.

If the Jets were keeping it alive, he would not be talking as if it were dead.

No offense Jetme23, but I'll believe it when I see it. I highly doubt that Woody would have let the whole stadium ordeal hit the fan over a measly $300-$600 mil. IMO, if it were just a matter of writing a check, I'm more than sure that Woody would have done it sooner.

There may be other issues as well. Take this for what it is worth as it comes from a anti-stadium article...If you follow the link there are other links as well.

The Jets say they might now wait for the city to rezone the West Side rail yards, in a last-ditch attempt to keep their $2.2 billion Manhattan stadium plans alive. DRAWBACKS: They'd still need to find an additional $300 million in funds to replace what the state was supposed to contribute, plus somebody to sell the $450 million worth of tax-exempt bonds that the state was to have taken on. Even if the city council agrees to the rezoning, it could take up to a year to get final approval, during which time the Jets could lose the opportunity to go in with the Giants on a stadium in New Jersey instead. If state assembly speaker Sheldon Silver kills the #7 subway line extension as threatened, Jets fans would have no way of getting to the new stadium even if it were built. And finally, if the Jets don't wrap up their stadium plans by the end of the year, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it may put its property up for bid again.

Thanks Buldawg, and welcome. I can't believe that $300 mil is keeping this thing down, if it IS keeping it down. Unless Woody refuses to take on outside investors because of his ego, I would imagine that there would be a string of billionaires lining up to invest in the West Side Stadium project.

Why don't the Jets just issue some bonds to cover the cost? I would make a long term investment in my team. At least I would get a return on my money, unlike what I've gotten from my season ticket investment over the past twenty years.
