Buying a car

I'm looking into cars right now. My current needs are just an A/T sedan that is reliable and could make a 650 mile trip (Cincinnati to NY) without troubles. Right now I REALLY like the Mazda 3 although without a good finance program might be a bit out of my range. Also I've been looking at the Chevy Cobalt. Used cars are certainly not out of the question and I have researched Mazda 626 (1997 - 2003) and ofcourse the typical Honda's.

Anyone have any advice or input on car searching or these particular cars?

Buy a PT Cruiser.

That's a real man's car.

Right 67?

Get a Honda Civic, you punk. Stop trying to get in a pimp-mobile to get laid. It's a lost cause anyway, and you'll be broken down in Deliverance, Pennsylvania listening to banjo music.

Civic's are more played out then your pog collection.

Get a Ford Escort and put big rims on it, get one of those big speaker systems put in it, tint the windows and upgrade the stereo! You still won't get laid, but your car will have big wheels!

 Honestly I really would like to get that Mazda 626. I've been reading it's a reliable car and is MUCH more affordable then a Civic.

 T-Mac saying "word."

Lag, I used to drive a Wrangler, which was cool because it looked cool, but it broke down every week until I finally crashed it into some trees. Then I said "F it" and bought a Honda Civic DX. The thing has 180K on it and the only thing I ever had to do to it is change the oil, a couple of tires and get the brakes done. Believe me, it's a great feeling being on Rt. 17 at 3 A.M., 3 hours between anywhere and anyhere, knowing that your rig will have zero problems.

PT Cruiser. Might as well advertise: Geek on Wheels.

Or metrosexual, which is just as bad.

Get a Jeep Cherokee

Get the Cherokee, but tell them to keep the drive train. You'll be replacing it in six months anyway.

Bought a 2004 Cherokee in August, and so far, so good. Service department is light years better than Ford. But know that with gas going up, you'll pay more at the pump.

Ironically, the PT and Jeep are both Daimler Chrysler products.

Pick up a Nissan Frontier - I just got a 98 with 99k for 3 grand on Ebay. Its a 4x4 as well. These things average about 300k or more before they die. Great condition and frosty AC. I had a 92 nissan pickup (hard body - not called frontier yet) that I took to 280k. My nephew is stil riding it and it is way past 300k. Brakes and oil change is all I have done to this thing. Go Japanese but stay away from the Mazda's.

What ever you don't ever, ever, ever buy a Hyundai.

Otherwise you'll regret it every single day that you own it.

Hyundais are the biggest pieces of junk out there.

I dont agree with that. I also had an Elantra that I ran to 180k before anything major went. The body and engine are great on these Korean vehicles. Its the interior that falls appart.
