Man, these networks and magaziines are going to make this guy an egotistical maniac (as if he isn't there already).

The man has no class at all. He doesn't care who he pisses off (which I don't mind so much).

He is just glad-handing his players all the time and calling them everyday-Smart move on his part.

What I don't agree with is his approach to contracts:

-His basic premise is that if you are one of the elite performing players in the NFL, you should be paid as such, regardless of where you are in the contract. He says the system is BS because the players org and the owners came to the agreement that money is not guaranteed and they can be cut anytime, He says that he does notfeel he should have to prescribe to dumb rules.

Naturally, he gets asked that if a players performs BELOW his salary level, if he should then be subjected to a pay DECREASE. Of course they shouldn't, they are jeopardizing their lives on every play, and who knows when they will have a career ending injury.

The man is just plain crass, and he is not afraid to be labled that way. And in this world where sport stars think they are bigger than life, he will treat them that way and will be largeley succesful.

Regardless the amount of players he uses for his own agenda.

You can be sympathetic to the idea that NFL contracts not being guaranteed is unfair. But Rosenhaus's penchant for getting big money deals that are really empty on the back end to sell to future clients is an indication that he's a part of the problem. He tells these guys "I got you $ x million" when in reality it's a fraction of that, and not a penny more than a decent attorney or accountant could've done. With the cap in the Age of the Pats, a player is getting the salary a sliding computer program spits out based on the player's ranking by position, years in the NFL and age. It might change on the margins, but Rosenhaus doesn't do nearly as much for his clients as he pretends he does.

And at the end of the day, he unethically jumps onto other agent's clients in hopes of getting a new contract to get himself a commission. Owens is an especially obnxious case; he negoatiated his own contract last year and signed it after being told not to do so by NFLPA attorneys. Noiw he wants to reopen it? RIch.

And more important than all that-these guys do have short careers. They don't need a friend, they need an eagle-eyed guy watching their long-term bottom line. Instead of bragging about softball games and what great pals Rosenhaus is and him blowing up 30 copies of his face in SI, what is he doing to see that these guys are financially set when then retire? Show me some sleeves-rolled-up-loose-tie money guy investing for these guys in solid things for when it's over. Because once they are done with the NFL, Rosenhaus won't be playing paintball with them any more.
