Ken Berger, of Newsday, reports the St. Louis Rams have floated the notion to free agent CB Ty Law's (Patriots) representatives that they are willing to go as high as three years and $19 million for Law, including about $8 million in guarantees. Law is said to be seeking a four-year deal. As recently as last week, Rams officials insisted they were not interested in Law, primarily because of concerns about the foot injury, known as a Lisfranc fracture.

OldManTX's catch 22

If Law signs with the Jets, it's an AWFUL signing that eats up way too much cap room for an ''over the hill player''

If he gets away the Jets Front Office is a JOKE and the Jets are going nowhere this year

You're a dickweed

It's sad because it's true.

I'll say up front: if Law signs with the Rams for that, the Jets are slightly worse off for this year (as I've said, Law is in the short term an upgrade by defualt, as the other option is adding nothing) but most likely better off in the long run.

IE: If the Rams sign him, you are better off for it.

The one thing I'll note is it would be a frigging embarassment for Bradway and the organization to get used like that and really start to have this bridesmaid reputation---- but I do NOT think that's anything more than a PR problem, it wouldn't cause appreciable damage to future negotiations, the chance of a player specifically saying "hey I can d*** around with the Jets" not being much greater than it is already.

So in sum, I would say you are better off if Law does run to St. Louis, though that won't stop me from calling Bradway a clown.

this is just like winfield because I hope it doesn't happen - don't sign an old has been cripple to long money

I disagreed with you on Winfield but I agree with you on this.

While the Jets signing Law is a bit unnerving in that there's definitely a reasonable CHANCE that he will be very, very good, the odds are bad enough that for this money it's a bad sign.

stop trying to cause a riot tx. That is old news that was reported yesterday.

2 things

1. Ty wants to play for a winner (IE not the Rams)

2. He doesnt have any connections with st.louis

3. Ty wants a 4 year deal at least

Ty Law will be a Jet. 8)

If Law wanted to play for a winner, he'd be back in New England and not some team that hasn't even played in the Super Bowl for 36 years and counting.

It's all about the money, and more specifically, the garanteed money.

I agreed completely with you on Winfield but I have to say I'm not on your side for this one. Law, unlike Winfield, is a proven player in big games. If the Jets doctors aren't worried about the foot then neither am I. While 31 is getting up there Law's age doesn't concern me as much as it does others.

I truly believe he's got 3-4 more good years left in his tank.

Can you smell the fear?

I can.

Fear of what?

Fear of losing a player we won a title without last year?

Fear that maybe Ty's career revival might have been tied into the coaching he got from the sidelines?

Fear that we might have to wait two years before our next Superbowl appearance?

There is nothing to fear in the Patriot Nation. We have been well treated these past 4 years.
