Lamont Jordan's debut

Recommended Posts

In what would eventually become a 21-13 loss, Jordan and the Raiders dominated the clock in the first quarter, grinding San Francisco's defensive front with relative impunity and holding the ball for 11:32 of the first 15 minutes. Jordan looked impressive during a pair of long Raider drives despite being rotated with Zach Crockett to minimize the risk of injury. Several times, Jordan served as the main outlet option when quarterback Kerry Collins couldn't find an open receiver. Jordan caught four balls out of the backfield for 23 yards.

Why do I get the feeling that once Savage69 reads this, this thread will go 5 or 6 pages?

Do me a favor if I'm not here-

Bump this post to the top when Sav69 wakes up.

I wouldn't worry about it, judging from past posts, this will go on for the next 2-3 years at least and once Curtis retires and is in the hall of fame, we will still debate whether Lamont is going to get into the hall or would have if only that damn HERM would have given him a true shot. :)

If pre season meant something the Jets would have

more Lombardi's then the Pats!! What most of the

Martinette's never get is I want Martin to do well!

And the Time when I want him to excel the most is

the Post season not the pre season!

Show me 1 game in this new century in the Reign of "Earn while you Learn" Herm where Cumar's heroic running has won a Game for the Jets in the Playoff's?? It has never been about just Lamont..But using ALL your players to win instead of just padding the stats of a beloved "Sacred Cow" whose HOF status just benefits the Good of the 1 not the good of the Team!!

PS And I would rather Jordan fail then do well..

It took me years to get over the Jets loss of

John Riggens!Instead of Jordan would the Jets

not have been better off with Shaun Rogers or

Chris Chambers rather then waste a 2nd rd pick

on a Bench warming back up that never started a

Game in 4 years?? [-X

4 carries for 12 yards!!?? Oh man how did we let him go for that stupid Hall of Famer Martin who can't do anything?

Jordan deserves to go the Hall for this game alone IMO. I don't see how anyone can possibly think differently.

You've very eloquently pointed out that you really don't understand the game of football. Congratulations. =D>

I was kidding jacka$$. Simply making fun of all the numbnuts who think Lamont Jordan is going to be legendary.

And what does that post have to do with me not understanding football? Because I'm not gushing over a 3 yard-per-carry performance against the worst team in the NFL? Seriously what exactly is your logic on this one?

alright, so we let a perfectly good RB walk, having a hall-of-fame caliber RB on the team. What do you expect us to do?

Would you be shouting for Brady to be sent packing because the Patriots somehow got some stud College QB who's supposed to be the next Marino?

You can't just kick someone like Martin to the curb that's done so much to help the team. So we traded Jordan. Worse things have happened. We just had a RB who won the NFL Rushing title last year. You would think that would be a positive for most, but apparently not.

Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too, and sometimes guys like Jordan get lost in the shuffle and go on to do well in other cities. Not every team has the luxury of having a Steve Young who's willing to wait it out for a chance to shine.

Well, that is a totally different situation. The key difference is Brady is still very young and has alot of good years ahead of him. Martin is running on bald tires with the steel cords sparking down the highway. All it would have taken to make Lamont happy is to get more carries. I don't think there would have been anything wrong with telling Curtis he was going to have to take a cut in his carries. An older player needs to realize when the end is near and know what's best for the team. I bet if Jordan even got 30% of the carries, he would have been more than happy to stay. Why do I care though? If Martin goes down, bring on Blaylock.
