GimmeShelter
TX , Garb or Alk, what's the real scoop here? Anything BB says concerning a possible health issue is useless so maybe you guys have some info on a QB not named Pennington?

Anything BB says concerning a possible health issue is useless so maybe you guys have some info on a QB not named Pennington? Good question Shelter. This is the first I've heard about this. No way in hell BB will release any info. I'm sure Garb can give an update from a Boston media perspective.

Garb
I've been to two practices and he looked great. I hear a rumor that he may have banged his elbow (not shoulder) in an evening practice session. He was seen wearing a wrap around his elbow after Sunday's practice. It could be a flare up of the elbow injury he had in 2003. Remember the watermelon-sized bumb on his elbow? Anyway, I made sure to check out the elbow during Friday nites game, and it looked normal. I believe this is all precautionary. Check out Karen Cardozza's (Mrs. B and former Patriot fan of the year)camp reports on Patriotworld.com or Patsfans.com Speaking of which - for you gals out there - check out the GQ spread of Brady going "cowboy." I don't quite understand the photographers "vision" (artists are hard to understand sometimes) but the Brady pics - a vision of beauty.
PatsFanTX
Brady Talks About Porn To Magazine QB Trying Shed 'Good Boy' Image POSTED: 6:51 am EDT August 16, 2005 UPDATED: 7:00 am EDT August 16, 2005 BOSTON -- New England Patriots quarterback and two-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady apparently wants an image change. He told GQ Magazine that he's growing tired of his good-boy image. He told the magazine that he does the same thing every guy in his late 20s does, like drink alcohol. And he did not deny that he even surfs the Internet for pornography. The Boston Herald quotes Brady as saying, quote: "I hate the golden-boy image ... I don't look that way at myself at all.' PatsFanTX
If Brady missed 8-9 games, what would the Pats record be? They would probably slip to 13-3.
Garb
I don't buy that article for a second. I think it is somewhat embellished to promote some new Brady image. Tom Brady, during an interview (local TV), will catch himself saying "sh*t" and say "shoot" instead. He say's, "damn" and then asks the TV reporter if that is an okay word to say. He says "heck" not "hell." He says "darn." C'mon, I'm sure he's no angel (he did sleep with Tara Reid afterall), but he's certainly no bad-boy either..... He's the type of guy every parent in the world would want their daughter to marry. Good natured, morally solid and kind.
Garb
If Brady missed 8-9 games, what would the Pats record be? Brady misses 8-9 games, the Pats MAY win 1 or two of those games. No Brady = no playoff's. Simple.

Come on Garb, if you don't know, the Pats have Doug Flutie as a back-up QB. They wouldn't miss a beat if Dougie was QB.
Garb
Flutie flake was picked up for practice purposes. The Pats face plenty of mobile qb's the season. That said, Flutie's skills sets don't exactly mesh with the Pats offensive schemes and philosophy. In other words, Brady goes down for a significant amount of time, the Pats are toast. Yes, Tom, it is rumored that Brady bedded Tara Reid. I suspect many of you here have bedded some "questionable companions" in your youth.

Barton
Brady never had a great arm. And up until last season I saw absolutely no difference between his arm strength and Penningtons arm strength.

Brady's arm is significantly stronger then PennyBoy's. Only a blind Jet fan homer would make a stupid comment like that.

Good, well above average QB, plays with smarts, but has an average arm.

Again, Brady's arm is significantly stronger then PennyBoy's. I dont believe it is. As we all saw Pennington can launch a 50 yard TD pass with a great tight spiral, great accuracy and good timing. Obviously, Brady can do that too. Brady really improved last season in terms of throwing the deep ball, imo. Before last season, I dont think Brady had a stronger arm than Pennington. Right now, Brady probably has a stronger arm.
Garb
The only reason this non- story is a freakin' story is because of the Red Sox conspiracy at work via the Boston media. The real story ought to be about Curt Schilling's injury and how he is not much better than before he was put on the DL. However, since Curt is the local media's God - God forbid they take question his ability to perform. They only talk about his being a superior team guy and speculate about when he'll return to the starting rotation. What a crock!
