Jets | Agents Refute Abraham Story

Wed, 24 Aug 2005 20:45:42 -0700

Ken Berger, of Newsday, reports New York Jets DE John Abraham's agents refuted widespread reports that the Jets' franchise player is close to ending his six-month contract dispute. "The statement that John is going to be there by the end of the weekend is false," the Baltimore office of agents Tony Agnone and Rich Rosa said in a statement. "His options are open to do what he's entitled to do under the collective bargaining agreement." That means it's possible that Abraham will not report until the Tuesday before the regular-season opener, the deadline for receiving his first game check in the amount of $392,157.

I tell you what...**** you John Abraham.

You spinless POS.

You Screwed this team over how many yrs in a row now?

How many games did you really give 100%? You were drunk for most of the games,You crashed you car while getting a DWI....The after the garbage you pulled in the playoff's last yr...you have the balls to even attempt to holdout?

**** you....This Jets team has played wihtout you for the most part. You're a 1 dimensional pass rusher who over pursues and is mediocre at best against the run.

Id rather give Brooks Billinger a 7yr deal then sign you at this point. I hope to god you sign that deal and the Jets trade your ass just to **** you over. I hope they send you to cleveland or arizona.

Herm has babied you your entire career, now this is what you pull?

I say this from the bottom of my heart....F-you.

I have a Authentic # 94 Jersey...Ill never wear it again.

Wow, but I sort of feel the same way.

He might just be getting bad advice though. I wish he would listen to someone who wasn't just counting his money (or the % that they get of that money).

If he comes back, plays strong and hard for 16+ games and makes a difference in every playoff game we play in, he will have made amends in my book.

Kids these days. ;)

Really piss this son of a bitch off and start Bryan Thomas. **** John Abraham, I hate this selfish sob. Did Jack Youngblood play a game with a broken leg before? I believe so. Can John Abraham play with a STOMACH FLU? I believe not. Pussy, Pussy, Pussy. **** you John Abraham. I'm embarassed that I ever liked you and ever wanted to keep you around. You are a worthless piece of sh*t and I hope after this season you're not back with the team.

Start BT.

This is bad, bad news. I'm sorry, but BT can't hold Abe's jock. Am I pissed at JAbe? Abso-farging-lutely.

But we need this guy if we're to make a serious run at a Championship. I know it was only a preseason game, but we got ZERO pressure on Culpepper last week. He then proceeded to dissect our secondary with ease.

Would it be such a bad thing for Abe to come in late and play with a bit of a chip on his shoulder? I don't think so. Let him hold out 'til the last minute. I can wait.

I think J Abe knows that he is a huge part of the pass rush and is waiting for the Jets to blink. Too bad he does not have the team oriented goals like Martin,Chad and the rest. It is very hard to root for this jackass

good post 4h....... that pretty much says it all right there

This is really a situation where we can not win- The Jets defense is so much better with Abe in the lineup

meanwhile he is selfish and prone to injury to give hima long term contract that he wants

He only hurts himself in the view of most fans though in staying out

TB tried to sign abe long-term last year to a very similar contract that ellis got and abe told TB to pound sand - then he sat out the most important games of the year diminishing his value further and assuring the f-tag.

all holding out is going to do is lock up the f-tag for next year too. he wants an above market value deal - its time for abe to come to terms with the fact that when you only play 10 games/year you will be paid accordingly.

You are all over reacting. John Abraham's agent is the one that said, he probably convinved abe not to sign yet. We'll see how you all feel when in week 6 he'll have 9 sacks. hes still my 4th favorite player, hes given up a lot to play for the jets, and dont even try to argue about last year, the media blew itt out of porportion.

Edwards is playing it just right. Let him and his agent babble on. He'll be there opening day. This douchebag isn't missing his game check of $394,117.64 if he plays vs. KC, and all he does is pass rush. The jets are a better team with him. But the more of this sheet that he pulls, the less likely is it that the jets or anyone will give him top dollar.

KEEP DIGGING YOUR GRAVE, SCHMUCK. YOUR A GREAT SITUATIONAL PASS RUSHER, BUT NOTHING MORE. Edwards is right-this POS could wake up at 4AM and rush the passer. So be it. Don't expect the jets or anyone is giving you top dollar when you're a total one-dimensional, one-way pussie.

LOOK OUT JOHNNY-here comes another F-Tag in 2006. You and your agent have accomplished so much. There's a long-term deal to be made, but only if you wise up. But you won't. Who ever is "looking out for your future" as you said before the playoffs is doing a damn losuy job of it. Going back on your word about signing the tender tells everyone what your really about.

I really want to sympathize with players over the fact that they have little leverage, short careers, no guarantees and limited bargaining power. And then Abraham and his a-hole agents pull this sheet which could cost the Jets a big run, and it all dissipates.

SIGN THE EFFIN' PAPERS, MORON. it won't get any better.

We need ABE. This team is not the same, when Ellis is our only proven pass rusher. Thomas plays the run well, but he still gets minimal pressure. And I'm a BT fan. But I have to face facts. Without ABE, we are really not all that much better than last season. With him, we have a championship defense.

What has he given up to play for the Jets? Drinking 6 nights a week instead of 7? Last year is problably the first year this guy wasn't a complete drunk and he still missed the playoffs.

He may have 9 sacks by week 6 but 4 of them will be against the Miami Dolphins just like last year. His stats are sooo over-rated it's disguisting. Look at the game by game break down and he gets 3 sacks vs. the worst O-lines in all of the NFL and then against the decent to good ones he barely has a heartbeat. This guy never comes through in the clutch anymore he just looks for stats and doesn't care that it comes in blow outs against crappy teams.

First of all who the hell is a BT fan? I root for the guy because I think he can still turn around his career and get away from that bust label but the guy has been a complete disappointment for the last 3 years. This pre-season he looks to have a better pass rush and I will goto war with guys that are team players and don't have a false sense of entitlement. JA is a loser plain and simple the guy will never get the deal he is looking for because he has off the field problems and he is the most injury prone undersized DE in the NFL
