I FIGURED TODAY WAS CLOSED BUT WHY NOT TRY IT ANYWAY FOR AUTOGRAPHS SAKE .SO I GET THERE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS CLOSED AND THEY WERE IN THE BUBBLE . SO AT THAT POINT LIKE 10 PEOPLE CAME THEY HAD KIDS SO THEY WERE MAD THAT IT WAS CLOSED .SO WE ALL GO TO THE BUBBLE TO SEE IF WE CAN TALK TO SOME ONE BECAUSE THE WEBSITE SAID IT WAS OPEN . SO WE GET TO THE GATE AND WHAT DO U KNOW THE GATE IS OPEN.SO WE ALL GO IN . WE SAW THE PLAYERS IN THERE BY THE DOOR . SO I ELECTED TO KEEP WATCH AND THE 9 OTHER PEOPLE WENT IN (I DID NOT WANT TO GET ARRESTED, I KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING WAS WRONG )SO THEY GO IN 1 OF THE GUYS GOT A PIC WITH CURTIS MARTIN.AND THEN A GUY COMES A LONG AND TELLS THEM U R NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HEAR GET OUT OR I WILL CALL SECURITY .SO THE GUY SHOWED THEM WHAT THE WEBSITE SAID , AND HE WAS LIKE WE CHANGED OUR MIND NOW GET OUT .SO WE ALL LEFT.THEY ESCORTED US OUT .SO WE GOT KICKED OUT AND WE DID NOT GET NOTHING . The Jets are terrible about updating their site. I am still waiting for them to update the SCORE on the 2 preseason games on this page: http://www.newyorkjets.com/schedule/ Who is the Webmaster? It makes like much easier. For the record, in the past several years, whenever I have called ahead, and was told that the public is invited, I had no problems. FWIW. As to "we just wanted autographs", I really don't get it.There isn't really any value if all these things were on the market.Joe Dimaggio or Ted William-may be. But your average player today-is there a point? As to players and sports teams in general, I can understand why they don't want to accomodate it. Once you say "no more!" you get some misguided fool who was cut off writing a letter to the papers saying your team and it's players are evil scumbags.It's become a business.There was a letter in the Post last Sunday about this woman whining how nobody on the Yankees would sign for her kids at the Tropicana Dome during a recent Yanks/D-rays series, and how rather than tell her kids cest la vie, she takes them to the Yankees hotel t o keep trying. Sounds more like child abuse than love of the game. The day we went to Jets camp the line for autographs formed at 11:00AM, and at 12:30 when we left, no one even knew who would be signing. So you had hundreds of people standing on a hot humid day for over an hour and half to get a signature not knowing whop rather than allowing their kids to enjoy the camp rides. Camp is a lot of fun. Bugg Posted August 25, 2005 Share Posted August 25, 2005 If you're 17 and been to camp every day, you should've seriously considered A JOB(and judging by the college and high schoolers working at camp, you could've worked there) or going out for your football team or some other more productive use of your vacation. Scummy lower East Side (except for Katz's Deli)?Only Art I know played goalie in roller hockey.Check out the location-and I'm there since birth, and not in some overpriced yuppie dumping ground craphole like Williamsburgh. Southern Jet has it about right. The 16-year old in this house went from 6 days a week in the bagel store for 2 1/2 months until football practice started this week.
