Jets Sign OL Isaac Snell To Practice Squad, Release T Michael Kracalik from practice squad

New York City- The New York Jets announced today that they have signed rookie offensive lineman Isaac Snell to the practice squad and have released rookie tackle Michael Kracalik from the practice squad. The announcement was made today by Jets Executive Vice President/General Manager Terry Bradway.

Snell, a 6-6, 288-pound product of North Dakota State, was signed by the Jets as a rookie free agent on April 28, 2005. Snell played in 37 games in his four years at North Dakota, recording 109 tackles, a fumble recovery, nine passes defended, an interception and seven sacks at nose tackle. As a senior, he recorded 55 tackles, two passes defended and two sacks in 11 games. He played in 11 games as a junior and finished with 33 tackles, four passes defended, an interception and four sacks. As a sophomore Snell played offensive linebacker and saw action in 10 games and finished the season with 16 tackles, one fumble recovery, two passes defended and a sack. He lettered in a reserve role at linebacker and recorded five tackles and one passes defended as a freshman.

Kracalik, a 6-8, 337-pound product of San Diego State, was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2005. Kracalik played in 36 games and made 30 starts as an Aztec, playing at guard as both right tackle and left tackle. In 2003, he played the entire season at right tackle with a shoulder injury that required surgery after the year. He allowed only two sacks while grading 91% for blocking consistency. Kracalik allowed only three sacks while learning a new position, left tackle. Kracalik started eight games in 2002, including the first five at right guard and the final three at right tackle. He saw six games of action as a reserve in 2001.
