I think he was making $2/$3 mill a year and had to give his ex-gf $20k/month. That's not chump change but SO WHAT? He had to give her around 10%-15% of his salary, big deal he was still a millionaire after paying her. Think of all the guys out there making $50k who have to give their ex's $3k a month. Now THAT hurts. But instead, he's earning 12 cents a day sweeping floors in NC prison. Dumbass. It's like what Chris Rock said, if you make 10 million and your wife takes half, you ain't starving. Ojinnaka Ojinnaka, a fourth-year reserve drafted out of Syracuse in the fifth round of 2006, was charged with simple battery, said police spokesman David Schiralli in suburban Gwinnett County. Police said Ojinnaka's wife confronted him about contact with a female friend on Facebook. Police said he tossed her down some stairs and threw her out of their house in Suwanee late Tuesday. Ojinnaka, who has started seven of 30 career games, told police his wife began the fight by attempting to stab him with a pen. On November 16, 1999, near Carruth's home in Charlotte, North Carolina; Cherica Adams, a woman Carruth had been dating, was shot four times in a drive-by shooting. Surviving the shooting for a time, Adams called 9-1-1 and described Carruth's behavior: he had stopped his vehicle in front of hers as another vehicle drove alongside Adams and its passenger shot her. Carruth then drove from the scene.[3] Adams was six months pregnant with Carruth's child. Soon after her admission to the hospital, Adams fell into a coma.[3] Doctors saved the child, Chancellor Lee Adams, in an emergency Caesarean section, but Cherica Adams died a week later on December 14. Born prematurely and in distress, Chancellor has cerebral palsy. Carruth went to the police and posted a $3million bail, with the condition that if either Cherica or Chancellor died, he would turn himself in.[3] However, after Adams died, Carruth became a fugitive. The Panthers released him a few days later, citing a morals clause in his contract. He was eventually captured after being found hiding in the trunk of a car outside a motel in Parkers Crossroads, Tennessee. Also, in the trunk was $3,900 in cash, bottles to hold Carruth's urine, extra clothes, candy bars, and a cell phone. At trial Rae Carruth was defended by both David Rudolf and Chris Fialko.[4] He was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and using an instrument to destroy an unborn child. He was sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison. However, Carruth was found not guilty of first-degree murder and was spared the death penalty. Carruth is now serving a sentence of at least 19 years and 11 months at Nash Correctional Institution near Raleigh, North Carolina. (”Punk” also works in a pinch.) I’m not quite sure why. “Philadelphia thugs murdered a woman today.” Do we really need a pejorative to describe the men who murdered someone? Isn’t saying they murdered someone enough? Apparently, though, it’s not just murderers and rapists who enjoy the thug life: Since November, investigators said, they’ve counted at least nine vehicles stolen from garages used by the Marriot Courtyard, across from City Hall, the Kennedy House apartment building on John F. Kennedy Boulevard near 19th Street, and various other valet lots. Cops said it is common practice for current and former downtown-garage attendants to either rent out the cars to their friends in outside neighborhoods, or to just joyride in the vehicles, while customers are at work or out on the town. [...] So far, police said, they’ve nabbed two thugs out driving the cars stolen from the Marriot garage at 12th and Filbert streets. Officers found one man cruising around North Philadelphia.
