Preston Howley III
big bad john was on the field for 34 plays, against the Chiefs. Trent Green went 15/26, passing. That means, assuming Hendu got it right every time he sent big bad john onto the field (obvious passing down), big bad john was on the D-line for at least 8 running plays, right? Can anybody narrow it down to which 8 running plays? I'm sure big bad john was on the field for more than 8 running plays, though. I'm sure there was quite a few times Hendu thought the Chiefs were gonna throw it, but ran it right at (and by) big bad john.

TomShane
Big Bad John was no worse than Big Bad Bryan Thomas against the run. A total no-show by all parties. Awesome!
Preston Howley III
So... It's fair to not blame the entire mess on Bryan Thomas? I mean, only a dope would do that, right?

Preston Howley III
The chiefs had 60 offensive plays; big bad john was in 34 plays- half. So, which 50% of the game did big bad john make the Jets defense better?
Barton
The chiefs had 60 offensive plays; big bad john was in 34 plays- half. So, which 50% of the game did big bad john make the Jets defense better? All I remember was BT being on the field in the first drive when Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes owned his side of the line. Abraham is a good run defender. When he played last year he was a very good at stuffing the run, even plays run right at him. He used to be average at best but he really did improve in this part of his game last year. And now that he has the new spinarooni, LOOK OUT! That very well may be, but my point is, if you had another warm body in his place- even big bad john- it wouldn't/didn't change the end results. Blaming this all on a hapless Bryan Thomas is what is known as scapegoating.
