TomShane
Going out onto the field for my first attempt at a field goal in the regular season is one of those situations that I wish I could go back and get another chance at making. As I approached and put my plant foot down, the ground didn
Barton
I will be holding my breath the next time he lines up for a FG. I think he'll recover, it wasnt like the FG would have matter anyways, and he didnt have to psychological problem of seeing it shank 30 yards to the left (and it would have gone way left when you look at the reply it was an offbalance kick and ofcourse it was way off). bitonti
as I said to boozer76 it's better to get the bad luck out of your system when it doesn't matter than when it does lets be real nugent could have banged through that kick and 5 others just like it and they still would have been embarassed last week. Gainzo
If he can't handle the KC field in September I can't wait for him to come to Foxboro in December. We might have the worst natural grass field in the league. Especialy late in the year.

BwanaZulia
Seriously Tom, are you even a Jets fan? You seem to enjoy their failures way too much. At this point I just lump him in with Fred Jetstone, TX, Doc, JackTheRipper and a few others. They are at the point where it is not about the New York Jets or the game of football as much as it is about pushing their own agenda and garnering attention. BZ As opposed to being blind lemmings that follow the Jets off the cliff every season? Just because your a fan does not mean you have to agree with everything your FO does. While it is too early to knock the Nugent pick, unless you do not like wasting a pick in the second round on a kicker, your FO and Coaching Staff have shown clear lapse in judgement at times. Herm is 70 games into his tenure and you are 37-33 under him. Bradway is what 4 years into his tenure? Do either of them seem to have a plan or gotten better? The Jets look to have fallen into the trap the Dolphins fell into and wallowed in for nearly 20 years. A modest amount of talent on hand and trying to be competitive year in and year out. That is nice if all you want to do is make the playoffs more often then not, but if your goal is to end a 37 year drought, you might want to have a clear plan and be agressive enforcing it. (Funny how a Pats fan defends Tom.. hmmm) Anyway, there is a difference between being a fan and a lemming. To root against your team to win, to constantly take shots at players, coaches, decisions isn't what a fan does, it is what a disgruntled individual does. Sound like anyone where? (COUGHTXCOUGH) I know half of it is in jest, but why be a fan if it brings you so much misery? Why not move on to another sport or hobby like bowling? You can slam Herm all you want but his record in seasons and playoffs stands for itself. Take a look around at the other 20 teams a year with "better" coaches who are playing golf in the pro-season. Besides, slamming Herm in a Herm slamming thread is one thing, but constantly, relentlessly, blindly bringing him into every thread is just attention getting behavior. Fair point. Just making the playoffs every year like the Fins or the Bruins or Hermie's beloved rabbi Tony Dungy starts getting empty real fast if you don't grab the brass ring. Absolutely nothing went right for us in that game. We just had no luck at all. It was one of those games you just have to try to forget and move on. So many things went wrong in that game that are normally things you don't even think about. The botched snaps, Coles' drop, Nugent's kick. Fortunately it's just 1 game, and it's just the 1st game. Maxman
BZ brings up some real good points. Tom does seem to enjoy the losing. It is like he lives for it. Somehow the Jets failures validate him. It is really strange and painful to watch.
