JonEJet
And the Phillies should have won theirs on a homerun. The **** is your point? Lets not get facts in the way......the red Sawx got a gift on Friday
Arsis
Mets fans already know their team will fail, so the only thing they hope for is the Yankees, and Phillies and any of their other rivals will fail.... lol The yankees and mets are not and will never be rivals. 6 gimmick games a year against a ****ty team does not a rivarly make. 124
Dont kid yourself kid... Yankee fans and Sox fans are the same way. For sure. After we beat the Sox in 2003, not too many people really gave two ****s about the Marlins and the World Series. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Boone's walkoff was the end to most Yankee fans season.

Ask George Steinbrenner and how he treated the Mayor's Trophy game, and how he even treated losses in Exhibition games against the Mets, and ask him if he thought their was a rivalry. they compete in the same market and they compete for the same players. Because of those facts, there is a rivalry, although it does not compute to standings
Vudu
The METS & Yankees are only rivals in New York & to New Yorkers, same with the Giants/JETS.
Lil Bit Special
The METS & Yankees are only rivals in New York & to New Yorkers, same with the Giants/JETS. There is no reason for them to be rivals at all. Its kinda pathetic. Rangers/Islanders/Devils... they have a reason to be rivals.

Hometown rivalries are gonna happen in a city with 9 major sports teams. I do agree with you though, the JETS & Giants have no reason to be rivals, we're in two different conferences. Same with the Yanks & METS. There is an exception with the Subway Series ( or subway series world series) or a Giants/JETS superbowl

Would the Pittsburgh/Cleveland rivalry, be a rivalry to anyone outside those cities or their fans? Aren't you stating the obvious.

There is an exception with the Subway Series ( or subway series world series) or a Giants/JETS superbowl They only happen because dumb fans like to sh!t talk each other. In the Yankee/Mets "rivalry", the Yankees will always have the edge until the Mets beat them in the World Series.
