Hello everyone, Jaguars fan here...

Got the invite from Smizzy.

A little about myself... I am 28, live in Jacksonville... never been to NY, but want to go see the Yankees play before they get into their new stadium. I am a true fan of football, therefore.. I am honest, and not a homer, like most of the fans that you will meet. I love my Jaguars, but I can always be fair & unbaised to any football conversation.

Anyways, good luck this Sunday, and here is to both teams remaining healthy once the game is over.

Any thoughts on this Sundays match up are welcome...

Hey Jets fans!

YOu guys will be tough to move the ball on, especially through that BEAST JA. HOpefully we can contain him.

Chuck, apparently opposing fans have more respect for Abraham than a lot of the Jets fans here do. He gets trashed unmercifully here. The guy was a dominant force last week and I'm sure the Jags offensive game plan is built around stopping him.

welcome jag fans. its rumored our rookie kicker can do it from 80 yds out so I think we'll win this scorefest 3-0

:D Our rookie kicker last year booted one from 52+ yds to beat Indy!

I think that this will be a higher scoring game then everyone thinks... I don't see all what all the hype is about over the jets defense, they have some great players, but I don't see them being a top defense in the league.

I am more worried about Leftwich being healthy, and someone giving him some protection.

I think that the Jets will try & rush him a lot, after seeing the gang bang that he took last week.

teal, last week we put a good rush on the qb with 4 guys only for the most part. If that happens again this week your qb could be in for a long day & turnovers could win the day for the hometeam. I see both sides of the ball improving week to week for the jets.should be a great game

I've been thinking all week of a 12-10 game but now I'm leaning towards a 20-16 game myself. Both defenses are good and both offenses' most important player are hurting so who knows, it will probably be low scoring though in the end. Something like the 13-10 game 2 years back.

Good thing your kicker can hit em from 80yards.

I don't see you guys getting much further than your own 20 yard line!

Just playing! I do however think it will be a battle for field position similar to us and Indy. I would expect not to see much from leftwich other than short passes but mostly giving the ball to Fred Taylor and Greg Jones. It's obvious now we didn't use them enough last week and God knows Byron needs a rest.

Here's to a great game and wishing Curtis Martin gets healed up and we both stay healthy throughout the year.

Hey, here's to a great game to you! You're a classy guy. Most of us hope Curtis is going to be fine, he practicted today so things are looking well.

Here's to Leftwich getting better!

Marshall Bowl 2 here we come.

[i don't see all what all the hype is about over the jets defense, they have some great players, but I don't see them being a top defense in the league.

It all starts up front, and NT is a huge achilles heel, thus far. MLB Vilma, probably the most dynamic player on defense, is frustrated. I think the Jets secondary is improved from last year, with the upgrade at CB in Ty Law.

John Abraham is off to a good start, as well.

Thats 3 dynamic players- Law, Vilma and Abe. But without that stud NT, it's all swimming up hill. So I kind of agree with you about the prospects of this defense being top 5 this year like it was last year.

Losing Ferguson seems like it might give you guys a bit of a problem. I really hope the Jaguars don't abandon the run against the Jets. With a "smallish" NT, I think we can take advantage of your front seven. Vilma is a stud, and so are Ellis and Abraham.

One matchup I really want to see is Greg Jones vs. Vilma. Greg Jones has been switched to FB full time and is adjusting very well to the position. He's blowing up defenders in the hole, and paving the way for Taylor to pick up some yardage up the middle.

But like I said, I think we have an advantage on the ground game. Aside from our LT (which is Ephraim Salaam, formerly of the Falcons and Broncos), the rest of our OL are better run blockers than pass blockers. I'm also interested to see our 2nd round pick, Khalif Barnes, who will probably see time this Sunday at LT. While he's still raw, he is a tremendous athlete and he has that tough and nasty attitude that you want in a tackle. I'd love to see if he can push Abraham off the LOS during running plays.

The key for the Jags is to keep Byron vertical - and vice versa for the Jets. If he has time he can chuck it as well as anybody. But with Ellis and Abraham rushing against this O-line, we have a task. I'm excited to see Khalif go up against Barnes - he's the kind of guy who could stone a top draft pick one day and then give up *sigh* 5 sacks to Jorge Cordova.

speedyd, abraham is not nearly as strong against the run. this should be a hell of a ballgame for all 4 qtr's. I'm hoping to see blaylock able to find some creases & help with the ground game to open things up.

1st he has to find his way to the dang huddle :(

he's gotta see action this week.

I do believe turnovers & penalties play a huge role. jets are due to get in the + column here.

best of luck to a bunch of classy posters.

I know he's not as strong against the run. That's why I want to see us try to run behind Barnes against Abraham, because that might be the only aspect that Barnes would have somewhat of an advantage over JA.

Welcome.

I have a question for not only you but the other Jaguars fans...before 1995, who did you root for?

I rooted for the Bucs and Falcons. Ah, to remember the golden years of John McKay, Steve Young getting killed, Doug Williams getting traded.

Never have been much of a Phish fan.

You might remember the James Wilder game; Bucs were playing the Jets, and it was the last game of the season, and HC Rich McKay wanted his RB to get the rushing title that season; The Bucs were clobbering the crap out of the Jets, I think it was 44-0 or something, and there was like 3 minutes left in the game, and the Jets had the ball, but Wilder didn't have the title yet, the Bucs needed the ball back fast, so on a running play, the Buc defenders were told to not tackle Freeman McNeil, and he went all the way for a TD.

I'm not sure if that's exactly what happened as it was over twenty years ago, but it was something like that.

Wilder didn't get the title, anyway.

Remember Ricky Bell?
