Doom and Gloomers Unite Thread: Good News/Bad News

The Bad News:

~Your quarterback had this stat line: 9 for 19, 76 yards, 2 INT's, one of them in OT to effectively cost them the game. And he makes $64 mil. And he re-injured his gimpy right shoulder. Again.

~Fiedler is hurt too. Out of our three QB's, Fiedler was the only one who had something resembling an NFL throwing arm. And he might be done.

The Good News:

~Penningon's footwork is coming along splendidly. And, he's injured, which means that the Jets FO is starting to look at other options. Perhaps Vinny, perhaps we deal for Patrick Ramsey. Maybe we get crazy lucky and pry Phillip Rivers out of San Diego. Regardless, the future is now.

~Chad's silly chippinesss in press conferences about how the fans need to believe or find another team, well, Chad, get ready to find another team yourself. Loser. Pussy. Brittle. Wimp. Bitch.

The Bad News:

~Your Hall of Fame running back carried the ball 18 times for 67 yards. That is 3.7 YPC. For the season he is averaging a whopping 2.9 YPC.

The Good News:

~Curtis Martin didn't have to carry the load today with a bad knee. Derrick Blaylock got 3 whole carries. Three.

The Bad News:

Herm lost another close game.

The Good News:

There are only 13 games left.

The Bad News:

The Dolphins won today.

The Good News:

The Patriots might lose!

The Bad News:

Lavernues Coles, who runs a 4.3, caught 4 passes. For 17 yards. Total.

The Good News:

He's still a "top ten receiver in the league, easy."

The Bad News:

The Jets defense got pushed around. Again.

The Good News:

Bryan Thomas had a sack, which means he is averaging one sack per year.

THE GOOD NEWS:

The defense had a pulse. A faint one, but a pulse nonetheless.

THE BAD NEWS:

But after being on the field for 59 minutes, I guess they had to break sometime.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Hendu will make a great HC of the Jets sooner than later!

...I feel so enlightened... :^o and leave my curty alone...Blaylocks 3 carries looked bad too... . Seriously...bad game man. Im still reeling. The run looked like it could have had life when Fiedler came in and he got hurt..it's just a ginormous mess to have when we are 3 weeks into the season. Just my luck they win next week while Im in St. Lucia...see ya suckers!!...

The Bad News

The Jets suck.

The Good News

The Titans suck. (Hey Mr. Fisher come to NY.)

Good call. The fact that the Titans are even competing after that ridiculous salary cap purge in the off-season is a testament to just how good a coach Jeff Fisher is. Imagine what the Jets would look like if they lost Ellis AND Abraham AND Coles AND Coleman AND Curtis Martin? Herman would be lucky to go 0-16.

Just back from the game-to say that the state of our offense is a disaster is an understatment. we have a QB that has a bad shoulder and that might not even matter, Martin is not quick enough to the holes when there are any holes made by the offensive line.

And we continue to lead the league in 3 and 4 yard completions.

And Herm is right up there with calling time outs and not playing to win the game as his mantra

Chad is hurt and playing because Herm is a ****in fool.

Curtis ran much better when chad was out of the game.

Herm needs to go and I hope everyone is finally convinced. If not they will be at the end of this 6-10 season. I just hope Herm does not get a pass due to injuries.

...partly true about playing Chad...give him this, he did take himself out of the game... ...and he had no other choice but to come back in. The genuises that be had Bollinger on inactive list...so he couldnt play...but Im not sure if that was good or bad...

Wow, I did not know that Bollinger was on the inactive list. I was concerned about leaving themselves so thin at RB before the game.

...yes indeed brother for every game thus far he has been...thats a dangerous thing to do every week. Thats crazy. You get a situation like today and you have no back up what so ever!!...yeah you need RB's but I'd think you keep your QB's active...?....right?....

I believe Brooks is the emergency QB, meaning that if he comes into the game, under no circumstances can Penny re-enter at any point afterward. You only use your emergency QB if you absolutely have to.

In fairness, leave any defense out ther for 40+ minutes by going 3 and out every drive, and you cannt expect much better.

My observations:

(1) Cumar still has some burst left in his legs, but it is inconsistent and fleeting. He should be relegated to situational duty a la Marshall Faulk in St. Louis.

(2) Fabini sucks ass.

(3) I have lost complete and total faith in Herm. For the 2nd time in 3 games he failed to throw the red flag when replay clearly showed the officals made the wrong call (a. Priest Holmes' "TD" in the opening game, b. Cumar's "non-TD" yesterday).

(4) John Abraham is a stud, and anyone who doubted him in the off-season should be taken behind the outhouse to get bitch-slapped.

(5) Justin Miller should be playing kick/punt return coverage duty. No way should he be allowed to actually return.

(6) Pennington has taken all of those who had faith in him for a huge ride. He lied to everyone about his health. His words are hollow to me now. And I'm sick of people touting his toughness. There are a lot of tough QB's in the league.

(7) Baker was, again, the sole bright spot on offense.

(8) Nugent = A waste of a 2nd round pick.
