Jets fans are mentally ill

look up "bi-polar disorder"

that's you guys.

Am I the only one who watched the game? If Wayne holds onto that ball he's a hero, Chad is a gutsy leader and Herm...well he's still Herm but he would be a winner.

but no - chad's a fraud, Herm is a retard, the WR are worthless, blah blah blah blah blah.

They took the other team to overtime with injuries to both starting and backup quarterback, the left tackle and their second best LB.

It makes me sick to read these boards with this nonsense and embarassed to be a fan - not because of the Jets the team but because of the fans.

The majority of Jets fans complaining about this loss don't know the difference between a football and their ballsack.

When the clock was running at the end of regulation it was to prevent a last second tying drive from JAX, assuming the NYJ score the TD - which they were about a inch away from doing.

Let's be real without a starting QB - we were lucky it was even a game.

Most times the starting QB gets knocked out and the backup gets knocked out the game becomes a blowout.

Oh yeah and don't tell me about Bollinger, that sucker is a week and a half away from delivering my eBay packages in a pair of brown shorts.

don't be stupid - [-X maybe you guys should read football for dummies.

We still looked horrible all game... If Pennington can't throw the ball, he shouldn't be in the game.

I agree that Jets fans are mostly bi-polar and overly pessimistic, but this was an ugly loss. If Chrebet makes that catch, we would have won, and I would have been really happy, but we played poorly offensively all game.

Excellent post Matt. Do you not think that if Fiedler is healthy we can still do something?

Hopefully the MRI on these guys isn't so bad...

JMO Fielder must have been really hurt - they didn't even consider putting him back into the game.

Chad is apparently healthier than Fielder which is just scary.

They might have to sign a wag or make a trade.

In terms of what they can do - without a starting caliber QB - not a whole lot. It's tough friggin luck.

I don't know how firing everyone else in the organization is a good response. It's like kicking the s--t out of your dog. What's the point??

He constantly puts down Jets fans, has a love obsession with Bryan Thomas...

I dont get it.

But hey, what are you gonna do?

No you don't get it that's apparent.

Did you see BT get a sack from the DT position? #99 had a good game battling guys who out weighed him by 50 pounds.

in 1999 the Jets went 6-2 with ray lucas. I will make a bet with anyone that the Jets will not go 6-2 during any stretch of this season regardless of who plays QB. That is why everyone needs to get fired.

Alright man. Thomas played ok. He had a sack. What is that 2 in 4 years?

But you know soooo much about football. Im sorry. I cant believe I'm posting in this thread. Nowhere near your level of football knowledge.

Easy buddy. No one is claiming superior knowledge to anyone else in this thread. Bit is just saying that Jets fans are the most negative lot, justified or not, on the planet.

And come on, you need to admit, it's pretty pathetic. lol

I post what I feel is right. You don't agree that's fine it's a discussion board let's discuss.

I just don't understand what Jets fans expect from a team that has no healthy QB!

Herm actually from what I can see had a very good coaching game - he won his challenges, he did the lineman swap that everyone wanted with Jones at LT and Gragg at RT, he pulled Chad for Jay -

what more do you expect out of a coach?

Herm can't go out there and field punts, catch touchdown passes. Curtis/Blaylock can't their thing when the time of possession is 21 minutes after 4 quarters.

Bollinger? Is that really what we wanted to see? The Brooks Bollinger show? Brooks is a quality guy to have around if you are defending the Alamo and need a warm body to take bullets.

I just don't see the point of bashing for the sake of bashing. The game was lost on the field. The game was essentially over when Jay went down leaving the Jets with no healthy starting caliber QB's. WHat's to bash?

They were lucky it went to OT!!

This isn't really the best day to use injuries as an excuse.

Did you see the Pats game?

Match the championship caliber player to is awesome stats that bi-polar Jets fans should embrace. (Answers below):

A) 9 for 19 for 76 yards. 2 INT's. 2 Fumbles.

B) 18 carries. 67 yards.

C) 4 catches. 17 yards.

1) Curtis Martin

2) Lavernues Coles

3)Chad Pennington

*A-3 B-1 C-2

When do the excuses stop? The organization screwed up with Chad. I'd like to see anyone disagree with that.

Chad looked awful before he got hurt today too. Offensively, the team is inept to say the least.

There's no flow, no anything. It's like Tom said last week, it looks like they drew up some plays in the parking lot before the game and go with that.

hey Matt 39 maybe you aren't in the majority. There's some wiggle room in that statement.

I'm reacting to what I have read not only on this board but on all the boards.

To the ridiculous post game JETS show on ESPN where people were calling for bollywood.

How about the jackasses at the MEadowlands that cheer like madmen when their OWN TEAM is in the red zone??

Seems to me that Jets fans are every year some of the least informed in the entire league. And it makes me sad because I am one of them and will be until i die or they move the team to LA.

I must say that I agree with this. The Jets fans booed last week when a Gus Frerotte shovel pass was called incomplete instead of what the Jets fans thought should be a fumble.

No i didn't i was stuck in traffic. Did Brady go down? Seriously because if Brady went down and they still won then that would be amazing.

THe fact that the Jets made it close without a starting QB or a backup QB was amazing in and of itself.

and I am not saying it's an excuse it's just the way it is.

Hey Matt you know I respect your opinion and all but sometimes you have to call a spade just that. Chad looked HORRIBLE, no matter how you cut it. It wasn't horrible like his week 1 performance where it was just poor execution that needed to be fixed. It was horrible as in "Could he start for Marshall right now?"

You've been on these boards for many years and you know Sunday afternoons after a loss is the worst time to come because everyone wants to vent.

A defensive TD, a gift 1 yard fullback plunge after a turnover and a couple field goals. We are warriors and championship caliber.

No Brady didn't go down. But R Harrison did as well as Light and several other key players. The Pats are essentially starting practice squad players in thier secondary and winning.

Just like Bryan Thomas is not a starting caliber player - QB is not the most important position on the field.

That being said - we could use an upgrade there at this point.

jetlag you know what I agree - and when Herm pulled his ass to put in Fielder I was very pleased with that coaching decision - what happened afterwards was just bad luck. The type of luck that championship teams don't run into. Fielder could have stayed in and led the team to victory. Even a hurt Chad came within an inch of victory. They aren't a bad team just unlucky and maybe that's worse in the long run. This whole "fire Herm, cut Curtis, blow up the franchise" mentality is making me crazy though. Fans cheering for their own team in the red zone don't deserve to be taken seriously with their football related criticism.

Homey, CHad was hurt. He may have torn his cuff again. That's why Fiedler came in, the same way the only way Chad got in was when Vinny went down.

Herm did not pull chad and that is part of the problem. Chad came out because he got hurt again, was never REALLY healthy and should have NEVER been a starter this early in the year.

Hey RsherryJr - Belly is already an Ex-HC of the NYJ. There's nothing we can do about that now to bring him back. He's a HOF caliber coach and he's gone. Firing Herm and bringing in Kirk Ferentz won't change that.

If today taught us anything, it's that QB is by far the most important position on the field.

I don't think anyones taking it to that level.

But you have to understand people are going to start looking toward the future. We paid alot of money and he's been a below average player since the Oakland 2002 game. He also gets hurt every season.

With Curtis, how long are we going to do this? I mean if we continue to feed him the ball at this rate he may be crippled. Are we going to do it again next season?

People felt the team had a chance the team to do big things this season. What we've seen is a 64 million dollar player not be able to throw a foward pass and a running back who looks like he's lost a step.

The team had a gift schedule last season and still amost managed to blow it. This year, we weren't that lucky.

Dude, this just doesn't work anymore. Marvin Lewis is better. John Fox is better. Hell, Mike Nolan might be better. Herm is a mistake and needs to be replaced. The Jets have to go find the next Jim Mora Jr. They have to find the next Romeo Crennel. That is what they have to do. The old "there's no one better than Herm" bullsh*t is ridiculous.

Yeah he was hurt but he wanted to go back in - and he eventually DID!

Herm could have let #10 back in the game right away. Chad could play as evidenced by the dozen or so passes he attempted after the 3rd quarter. Herm only let him back in when he had to... granted it was like 3 offensive plays later. It was a coaching decision of sorts.

My point isn't that part of the statement - it's that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. The Jets weren't lucky today and that's the way it goes. Ripping the franchise down to the foundation and rebuilding isn't going to solve anything. At least not for the immediate future. You guys want to start planning for 2009, fine go ahead and fire everyone.

Exactly, I mearly use the BB reference because he is in our division. To Herm lovers there was never a situation you could compare to Herm's it was always "well that was before free agency" or " that team was in better cap shape". Well not anymore. There are coaches right now that got hired the same year or right after Herm that have much, much better teams and took over much, much worse teams.

TS you show me a game when any of those men won after losing their starting QB and their backup QB and i'll never bring this line of argument up again.

You can't win with a cripple at QB. It's darn near impossible.
