Fred Jetstone
I'm going to post a little tidbit from Jets Confidential. Not the whole article, just a tiny bit. The following is from Jets Confidential. Some scouts might be concerned with Brooks Bollinger's size and arm strength. But one thing nobody can question is his toughness. For the third straight summer, the Wisconsin product has taken an awful beating in preseason games. Each summer he has played behind some shaky backup offensive lines, wasn't protected vey well, and sustained some wicked hits. Against Detroit, he was the victim of two roughing-the-passer calls. Against the Giants, he was sacked by rookie defensive end Justin Tuck on consecutive plays. And the Jets don't hide the fact that part of Bollinger's role each summer, as the team's third string quarterback is to take the punishment they don't want their first two quarterbacks to sustain. After a blindside blitz wasn't picked up by the left side of the Jets line and No.2 quarterback Jay Fiedler took a wicked hit from Giants safety James Butler, Herman Edwards pulled him from the game and put in Bollinger. Here is an account of what took place on the sideline as the change was being made. "[i said to] Jay, "I've got to take you out. We're not picking this stuff up real good. You're about to get killed," Edwards recalled. "So, I went over to Brooksie and told him, "Look, I hate to put this on you", and he looked at me with that little stare, and I said, "You're going to have to protect yourself now. We won't be sending as many guys out, but we'll help you with your protection. But you have to watch yourself. It's going to get ugly." Bollinger has earned a lot of respect around Jets camp for the courage he has displayed the last three summers. Interesting, huh? The guy everybody like to knock as a softie, turns out, he's one of the toughest sob's on the team. Now, for my point. Herm, you idiot!!! Using Bollywood like this is like buying a Ferrari and using it to deliver pizzas. A few points that cannot be argued, my top ten, here goes: 1) Pennington sucks (and he's hurt) 2) Fiedler sucks (and he's hurt) 3) The Ravens have one of the toughest, most agressive, most blitzingest D's in the league. 4) The Ravens are the next opponent. 5) Bollywood has proven toughness (see above) 6) Bollywood has mobility (even the detractors cannot argue that the kid can run) 7) When Bollywood has been called upon, he has shined (last year vs. Arizona) 8)One and three is a hole. 9) Bollywood is ready, willing, able and HEALTHY 10) In the NFL, and in life, sometimes you just gotta follow a gut feeling and take a chance. SOmetimes the answer isn't somewhere out there, sometimes it's right in front of your face. Bottom line to all this: BOLLYWOOD MUST START SUNDAY AGAINST THE RAVENS. NO EXCUSES. NO BULL. NO IF'S AND'S OR BUT'S. BOLLYWOOD MUST START. NUFF' SAID! PEACEOUT.

Matt39
Guys, if we have to play Bollinger we will be embarassed. Like real bad. I watched Bollinger in college. He could hand the ball off, thats about it. The onyl chance we have at winning some games this season is this: 1. Our defense outscores the opponents offense 2. We sign a QB who has the ability to sling the ball around the field. Able to get some rhythm on offense and utilize all our our personel.

bitonti
Another omen. Last year, 3rd string QB Brooks Bollinger came in for one series against- The Ravens. actually it was the Cardinals... if memory serves. here's the reality if the Jets cut Bollywood tomorrow there isn't a team in the NFL that would pick him up. He's got no upside. Being a punching bag isn't the same as upside.

BlackLabelJetsFan
Hooray for Bollywood. I don't know if its because he's the only QB on the roster with 2 good shoulders, or Jetstone quoting Schopenhauer, but Im beginning to cotton to the idea of Bollywood in Baltimore. Might have no other choice.

Again, Matt 39, you don't win 30 games in the Big 10 by just handing off. Read some stats and spend less time on cute sigs. As far as being embarassed you should be used to it by now. I am of a similar opinion of Bollinger's "talents", however, when he had the chance with the first string offense he didn't look that bad. Besides, can he look much worse than Chad has so far this year?? I really don't think so...
