LionelRichie
rivers is too expensive, ramsey is washed out, and the rest of the names i have heard so far are retreads with little to no potential. a name i have not yet scene mentioned who by all accounts could be had cheaply is Chris Simms. he is 3rd in tampa and they already signed griese to a big deal. he can't be any worse than bollywood, palmer, quinn, vinny, jeff george, or the rest of the heap. Mean Papi Green
good idea but I shudder at having any connection to Phil
GreenBeans
good idea but I shudder at having any connection to Phil At least he'd stop bashing the Jets during his broadcasts. Simms would be an interesting pickup.
mudcat21
There is a reason he dropped to #3 in Tampa, he sucks.
bman
How is Rivers too expensive?? How can you put a price tag on a franchise QB? I'd give up a #1,2 and 5 for him in a heartbeat. We gave a 1 for Jolly..

We gave a 1 for Jolly.. I'm glad your not the GM. That's a lot to give up for an unproven QB. After what the Giants gave up for Manning, the Chargers would be sitting back sipping champagne, burping and picking filet mignon out of their teeth if they made this deal too. bman
look at our # 1,2,3 picks in recent years.. You wouldn't trade BJ ASkew, Justin Miller, B Thomas for a a top 5 pick QB... Every pick is a crap shoot..bottom line is Jets NEED a QB...Rivers is a top 5 pick talent.. I would absolutely trade 3 unknown potential bust picks for him... Because Rivers isn't equally a potential bust? Just because he was drafted top 5, doesn't mean he will amount to anything at all in the NFL, see Ryan Leaf. LionelRichie
Ramsey is the best option simms and ramsey are about equal in current ability, but i think simms has a higher potential. ramsey would kill the jets - he turns the ball over too much and this team cannot recover from 2 or 3 int's a game. We gave a 1 for Jolly.. That's a bit steep for a guy who basically has not played since January 2004. But he is the real deal. I posted on the JI site that I thought he would be the best of all the Q/Bs drafted last year, and in spite of what Big Ben has done, and what Eli is doing, I still feel that way. Rivers was super in College.
Barton
I would give up a 1st, 3rd and 5th rd pick for Philip Rivers without blinking any eye. Remember. We will be getting alot of compensation picks this year due to LaMont, Fergy and McKenzie getting huge contracts. We might get back a 3rd and a 2 5th rd picks anyways. So in the end, it could be just trading a 1st rd pick for Rivers, if you think about it.
