Jetheelz
Thought you might be interested to know your buddies Willie Parker and Jeff Reed were both at the Carolina game today. There was a huge cheer for Willie when he came out on the sidelines. I tried to get down to him for another autograph but there was plenty of security around (being that he's a big NFL star now) but he did wave to the crowd and got us pumped up for the game. Glad he doesn't forget where he came from.

StillerPaul
Very cool! Sounds like they really enjoyed themselves at their alma matre this bye weekend. I'm gonna go to the team hotel in Cinci in a few weeks to see if i can land his autograph too.

I think it will be a great one to have.
StillerPaul
Got my order in for his Jersey as well. Thanks for posting the info, buddy. And thank god the stupid bye week is over for me, never to be seen again (til' next year).
Jetheelz
Funny thing, I am sure most of us around here wouldn't mind seeing our bye week very soon.

Yin'z really deserve a winner. Usually when a team faces as much adversity as your team has faced so far, it draws em' closer together and they become a much better team for it. Things will get better.
Jetheelz
The sad thing is I get to see better football on Saturdays...UNC isn't known for their football but this past year and now this year things are changing a bit.

I meant to ask you if ya ever attend basketball games. I bet when UNC plays Duke at home, it's the equivelent of the NFL playoffs, atmosphere wise. I know watching it on TV is very cool. Jetheelz
Yeah, I do go to the basketball games. We have late night with Roy Williams coming up on October 14th, so that will be alot of fun. I have been to Duke/UNC in the Smith Center a couple of times. Very loud, very intense. A great rivalry.
TomShane
I was just reading the Sporting News and one NFL exec said that Parker "reminds him of Terrel Davis." Wow.
StillerPaul
I was just reading the Sporting News and one NFL exec said that Parker "reminds him of Terrel Davis." Wow. He really is something special, Tom. The patriots got very good penetration last week and wouldn't let him get untracked ( let's face it, Belichick owns Cowher). But this kid has worked his tail off and has that explosiveness that we Steelers fans have never seen. I'd venture to guess that he'll easily have 1400 yards or so this year. DireJet38
Parker lost 5 lbs. since the beggining of the season, rurmor is taht the steelers staff doesn't think he has the stamina to survive a full 16 games. Staley will take over as the starter and parker will be the change of pace back. This is all via yahoo fantasy football.
