Brooks deserved an opportunity to start after being here 3 years. Whether he deserved to get drafted is another story.

I'm almost vomiting in my mouth as I say this, but it's time to play Vinny. IF we're going to have ANY chance this season it's with Vinny at the helm. Herm and Co. will have NO EXCUSE with this veteran QB at the helm not to go long early and often. Put Vinny in, go vertical, and work Blaylock in.

I kinda agree, but there's a problem. Herm didn't trust Vinny either, remember? Might as well have a fresh set of legs to scramble from the blitz on 3rd and 6. Too bad we never throw before it's absolutely necessary, even when they're stacking the box.

The last thing a QB loses is his arm. Vinny's got a helluva arm. Always did. He can also be accurate. He can even move around in the pocket. His big knock: he's a little stupid. Doesn't know how to work the plays, can't read a defense. So--put him in! He's not going to learn the playbook anyway! He's incapable of that--especially on short notice. Let him throw the damned thing like he's in a sandlot and hope for the best. Our WR's arent great--but they'll all fight for a catch--especially Coles and Wayne. J-Mac can try'n snag a few jump balls. Just so long as we throw the thing. Vinny can throw. Hard. So what if he gets picked--at least teams will have to account for a downfeild threat.

I definitely think Vinny is able to hand the ball off 40 times a game. Not sure if he can complete the "run for your life and throw the ball away" play

I wanted to see Vinny out of the shotgun every play of the 2nd half. Sure we would have lost. Sure the defense would have been on the field too long because of the 3 and outs.

But you know what?

At least it would have been fun.

Yes, picks are Okay. Would you prefer the alternative of not having any downfield threat to hold the backers and safeties? Perhaps we can revert back to the days before the "forward pass" was instituted. Three yards and a cloud of dust. And a stretcher. And the first pick in the 2006 draft. A strong arm, even an inconsistent one, gives you a puncher's chance.

Vinny would be a much better play than Brooks. Vinny has at least started in the league and be fairly successful. Brooks resembled no passing game until the 4th quarter and that was way too late. When he dropped back, he held the ball too long and looked confused... 8)

I would at least prefer a punchers chance than just going into the turtle and getting pummeled like last week. Vinny = some chance to score. Brooks = no chance
