Bollywood deserved a second chance

And here is why:

1) Vinny Testeverde has not played a single game in a year, and he did so with at least an adequate offensive line.

2) Vinny has no mobility; that becomes critical if you expect a QB to get away from the rush

3) Bollywood was allowed to throw 4 passes in the 1st half. FOUR. How can one possibly say that is enough of a timeframe to judge a QB? 24 passes thrown when the Baltimore defense was clearly EXPECTING pass does not, either.

4) He probably did better against Baltimore than Pennington would have. Pennyboy would have managed a fumble and a pick. Bollywood gave up neither. What happened to Herm's philosophy of MINIMIZING mistakes? Vinny is the wrong man for that job.

5) There is NO WAY a 40-year old Vinny will perform any better.

Bollinger might deserve another chance, a real chance, but that won't happen, at least not here.

Herm is one of those old school guys. He does not trust young quarterbacks. Young guys, for that matter. Were it not for injuries to Vinny and Sam Cowart, we'd never have seen Chad and Vilma.

Bollinger will not get that chance. Herm will play things close and hope that the D can shut things down.

Im with you guys on bollywood.

considering the situation, bolly didnt do horrible in his first start. Herm calling the runs and the o line were the greater enemies.

bob, playing vinny is fun so we can see what he can do, but he isnt the answer. the season is lost anyway minus well see what bolly is all about once and for all. give the dude at least 3 games

3) Bollywood was allowed to throw 4 passes in the 1st half. FOUR.

3-8-NYJ30 (11:37) B.Bollinger pass incomplete to L.Coles.

1-10-NYJ31 (10:27) B.Bollinger pass incomplete to J.Sowell.

2-10-NYJ31 (10:23) B.Bollinger pass to C.Martin to NYJ 37 for 6 yards (T.Polley, T.Suggs).

3-4-NYJ37 (9:32) B.Bollinger pass incomplete to L.Coles (T.Suggs).

2-17-NYJ26 (3:07) B.Bollinger pass to J.McCareins to NYJ 42 for 16 yards (E.Reed).

1-10-NYJ44 (1:48) B.Bollinger pass to D.Jolley to NYJ 47 for 3 yards (W.Demps, K.Gregg).

2-7-NYJ47 (1:48) B.Bollinger pass incomplete to J.McCareins.

3-7-NYJ47 (1:43) B.Bollinger pass incomplete to J.McCareins.

in the first half he attempted 8. made 3, was sacked 2 times. He looked like a deer in headlights.

Bollinger sucks donkey schlong, just get over it.

How may times did J Mac drop passes?

How many times did other players drop passes?

How many times was he hurried because the O line couldn't stop the Ravens D?

How many times did Herm slap the handcuffs on Bollinger?

I mean the only time Bollinger was allowed to thow the ball deep is when there was 3 1/2 minutes left to go in the game; that's when Herm decided to go for the win.

Herm is a sh!tty coach and he didn't even give Bollinger a chance to win the game.

Don't forget what Herm said before the game,

I really wanted Bollywood to show me more and even though the game plan was simple, Brooksie just didn't look good.

1) Vinny can throw an aquarate ball.

2) The players believe in Vinny.

3) Vinny has started in the NFL

The rest of your argument is just a bunch of conjecture. If this and IF that.

Vinny comes in, plays and we see what we have. At this point, Bollywood wasn't going to win games, so it is time to try someone that can.

We shall see.

Bollinger deserved to have play calling that did not make him look inept, an O Line that wants to block and wrs that will catch balls that him them in the hands.

I love that when Chad plays poorly, it is Chad's fault (arm, shoulder, etc), but when Brooks plays poorly it is the play calling and o-line.

Too funny.

DON'T TURN THE BALL OVER

DON'T TURN THE BALL OVER

DON'T TURN THE BALL OVER

DON'T TURN THE BALL OVER

It was drilled into Bollywood's head by Herm. He did EXACTLY what the master bator told him to do.

Now he's being punished.

He deserved one more chance, if only for the reason that Vinny is not game ready.

Also, if Vinny is injured, you have to go back to Bollinger, who is for all intents and purposes, finished in that locker room.

Good job, Herm, YOU FCKNG @S*HOLE.

Yeah, and what should he have told him?

TURN THE BALL OVER!

WHIP IT DOWN THE FIELD!

GIVE IT TO THE HUNGRY DEFENSE!!!!!

LOSE THIS GAME IN THE FIRST QUARTER!!!!

The reason the game started slow was to give Brooks a chance to be in the pocket, to get used to a few throws. As the game went on, he got more and more tries and he just couldn't do it.

I know the Herm Haters are just foaming at the mouth at this point, but get realistic.

bz, we bashed chad cause we paid 64 mil & he played much worse than our

3rd stringer against chiefs.

those floaters against miami were embarrassing

he is our franchise q back & he can't throw the friggin ball.

bolly was not given a chance & didn't do too bad when playcalling finally opened up near games end.

I have no hope of vinnie doing any better sunday. he is not ready to step in at q back, nor is our o line capable of protecting. he will get hurt do to age & shape

I just didn't see it.

You say he played "Better", yes, better than his miserable play in the first half.

As much as I was willing to give Brooks a few weeks before seeing him play, now I just don't think he can get it done.

Vinny is old, slow and not in shape but he is smart, experienced and can throw the ball deep.

If the season is really lost, why not give it a shot. Vinny has just a good a chance to win this game as Brooks does, but we shall see.

Defense better SCORE that TD this time though. :)

Bollinger is not an NFL caliber quarterback, no matter how anybody spins it. The Jets will try anything not to have him in the game. The only reason that he started last week was because there was absolutely no one else available. So McCairens dropped a ball last week, big effin deal, what about the 6 balls that were 10 feet over the receivers heads? That was the worst offensive performance in Jets history last week and if Bollinger plays the rest of the year we will have the lowest scoring team in NFL history. We didn't even get close to field goal range, not one time!! Bollinger is a waste of a roster spot.
