vanDoug
Anyone mess around with this band? She's replaced Karen O as my favorite Indie chick around. Just started listening Lungs the album from last year...good stuff. On your recommendation I looked into this. The comparisons to Kate Bush immediately got my interest. Listening to Lungs now. To me, Kate was somewhat of an influence here, but not to excess. Very good stuff, I can see this record growing on me. Thanks.

Jetlag
^^ I listen to the Local Natives now. I'm starting to fall in like with music like this. How should I classify it? Indie Rock. (As in short for independent label) Their debut album just came out a few months ago. One of the best albums I've heard front to back in a long time. Check it out it's called Gorilla Manor. Here's my favorite. Stranger Things 1wSkem9hgf4 BTW a great site to pick up indie album reviews is www.pitchfork.com Some bands you should investigate: Pinback Spoon Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown/Handsome Furs (2 lead singers of WF, one went to SR other went to HF) Black Keys Fleet Foxes Vampire Weekend Plus a million more. Most of the stuff I posted is more typical 4 member band stuff but there is a huge collection of groups that are more electronic and really have some good stuff. Cut Copy is probably my favorite of that genre. Anyway I'm assuming you were like me 2 years ago when I said to myself "I love music but how come I hate all the crap on the radio?" If want more let me know.
SenorGato
^^ I already listen to alot of those bands lol. Spoon, Black Keys, Vampire Weekend are some good bands...Postal Service is fun to mess with too. Ever listen to the Cold War Kids? Awesome band. I've dipped into the genre but haven't really taken an all out swim yet. D'you listen to Julian Casablanca's solo album? Good stuff. More from Florence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7baoTqocJs&feature=related Here she covers the Cold War Kids' Hospital Beds:
Jetlag
Your youtube vids aren't showing up for some reason. Are you seeing them? I just d/l'd MGMT's new album "Congratulations". So far pretty interesting if you're into more esoteric type stuff (70's art rock -ish?). eoFKYca8GKY I think I heard some Cold War Kids awhile ago and thought positively of them but never followed through with them. I'll go check them out again. I like the Florence stuff.
SenorGato
I'm not seeing my Youtube vidoes, I'll try to fix it. MGMT is really good stuff. Some video game a couple years had Electric Feel and since then I've been hooked. Check out Robbers and Cowards from the Cold War Kids. Great debut album. Jetlag
Wow. I like this song a lot. Never heard of the Band. Thank you for the good looks! No problem. There hasn't been one person I introduced to this song that didn't instantly like it. I'm actually seeing them live at the Bowery (I think) on May 6th. I can't wait for the show. D/led R&C and will be putting it in rotation. I think you might be putting the whole link in between the youtube tags as opposed to just putting the youtube ID which is the stuff after the = sign. So for instance if the URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-gl0E9bRa4 You only have to put P-gl0E9bRa4 in the youtube tags.

It's a great album to have in the background to lounge out too.

Conan is the only cool red headed male out there. My son's a redhead, and he's super-cool. All the chicks love running their fingers thru his hair, too. He's definitely playing it to his advantage. Isn't Max a redhead? Or is just that that wouldn't help your case.

SenorGato
Bringing this thread back simply because I love this cover and bored enough to post it: This is one of my favorite songs period, and I think the cover is extremely well done. Love the macabre video...love the take on the song...love the way she kills the "my love is bigger than a Cadillac" line...
