The Leon factor: Cimini

So anyway. Leon is gone, he's being used as a bargaining chip by current Jets players, which is no surprise but what I don't understand is this: if players are really desperate for long-term security what is stopping them from learning something else from the leon lesson and taking out an injury policy as leon did? I believe he paid $100,000 a year for a $5 million policy. Long-term security can be bought for a modest price.

What these players do not understand is to get LONG term security, you have to give up a little bit of SHORT term gain. You can't get a long term deal that averages 16.2M a season, unless it's backweighted and the last 2 yrs are never going to be actually seen.
