afosomf
If they are not hurt? Just because they suck does not mean you can put on IR! Mumbles is pushing envelope again
BlackLabelJetsFan
I wouldn't put it past Mumbles to push a player down a flight of stairs if he needed to stash him on IR.
Garb
Starks has had a nagging shoulder injury - or so they say - all season. He has been listed as questionable, probable for a few weeks this season. I don't care if this is not an IR sitution in the true sense of the word (although he has sustained some first degree burns  ). It's a great move. He sucks so bad, he's a distraction. However, instead of cutting him, he gets to collect his paycheck. Win-win.....except for Assmop whining again....

What's wrong with doing that? If you cut a player outright, you take a cap hit. By placing him on the IR, you get a free ride through the end of the season.
Instant Karma
Starks is in fact injured. He has an internally bruised trachea...

BlackLabelJetsFan
I understand why Pats did this to circumvent the cap, is it legal if not hurt. I guess it depends on the definition of hurt - Im sure you can get a doctor to sign off on anything, and if the player doesn't put up a stink... Maxman
This thread reminded me of that fake story about Mumbles last year. His announcement about having cut his daughter from the family. College costs, etc were given as reasons. He wished her well in finding a new family. That was some funny stuff!!! Belly has no SOUL.

Starks has been listed as "questionable" and "probable" for most of the season. That's how BB is getting around it.

afosomf
Mumble and Bill Clinton must be soulmates, while one sticks his cigars up interns, the other sticks it up the arse of the NFL "Mr Tagliabue, It depends on what your definition of "is" is? Green DNA
Starks has a bruised ego and severe scorch marks on his ass. He is a valid IR candidate.
Pantherfan007
Well I know that Eric Shelton, our star drafted running back this season, was placed on IR immediately after game three when he proved he didn't have a clue. I figured the conversation went something like: Coach Fox: Good morning, Shelton. Report to the infirmary. You just developed a hairline crack in your foot. Eric Shelton: What? No I didnt, my foot is fine, Coach. Coach Fox: Ok, let me put it this way, either your foot is broke or you're fired. Eric Shelton: Dang, this foot hurts!!! Ranger
I'm just jealous our coach is too much of a goody-goody to consider it! He doesn't have to consider it. With this train-wreck of a season the players are all jumping on the IR bandwagon. In case you haven't noticed
stormshadow19
It's not a question of legality. It's a question of ethics. And, running a NFL team, you can't have ethics.
