AVM
we are the new, football version of the boston redsox a lot of crappy years...and every once in a while there is great hope when we get a talent laden team, and it looks like we could really make a run at the superbowl...but somehow we are foiled, and our arch-nemesis, the patriots(much like the yankees for the redsox before they broke their curse), and left laughing at us, and theres nothing we can do i can see it now...i'll be 85, watching the jets in the superbowl up by 16 going into the 4th...shank it completely, but have the chance to win it with a 40 yard fg with 1 second left...when a guy named doug will hit the right cross bar...and i'll die of a heart attack....so is the life of a jets fan
Jetlag
We're more like the Chicago Cubs. The Red Sox problem was that they were snake bitten when they made it deep into the post-season. The Jets are never in the position to even see the snake.

Jetsfan80
Before we label the Jets a "curse", keep in mind that we are and always have been, at least since the merger, been a poorly run organization, and that is why we lose year in and year out. AVM
cursed with bad personel, cursed with by a goat, cursed by bad players.....what difference does it make? in the end, we can't get to the big one, and wont until we get one of those hotshot gm's everyones talking about...sort of like theo for my redsox...someone who has the balls to get rid of curtis and chad, despite the fact that id hate the guy, b/c as much as i want to ignore the facts...getting rid of them has to be done, just like with nomar in boston

Those people who don't like it also apparently don't enjoy winning games, either.
RSJ
It is what Parcells did. Yet I bet if you polled Jet fans Herm was a more popular coach and maybe it was partially because of some of those gutsy moves like trading Hugh Douglas, ect. Rsherry, I can guarentee you that Parcells has a warmer place in Jets fans hearts than Herm Edwards right now. MAYBE if you polled them after the Chargers playoff win he would, or maybe after the 41-0 win over the Colts in '02, but not now.
AVM
but we'll end up with a gm that trades vilma for a 2nd round draft pick, and drafts an injury prone defensive end with the pick, who blows his acl in the first preseason game... and btw...i apologize for calling you an idiot the other day...i was having a bad day and the patriots just pissed me off even more lol
