  1. Reddick is a monster and the pick is for 3 drafts from now (2026) and may only be a 3rd since the condition is 67.5% playtime AND 10 sacks for the 2nd. I swear, fans will hate on anything. It’s a great move and an upgrade over Huff.
  2. The AFC is not looking nearly as daunting as everyone made it out to be. Even the elite teams are mostly struggling. Miami looks concerning but let’s see how they fare over the season and if Tua stays healthy. Baltimore also looks good even in spite of some injuries. Probably half the AFC fanbases or more are freaking out right now, and not all of them have a signature win over a tough opponent like we do. The Jets may very well end up disappointing this year but people need to stop giving up all hope after one loss. Pats are sitting at 0-2 and we have a chance to knock them to 0-3 and go up to 2-0 in the division. The team that beat Buffalo week 1 can beat the Pats week 3. Let’s see what happens. Go Jets!
  3. Look at how Rodgers has behaved here with the NYJ and it’s clear he’s a “relationships” guy. GB’s current FO did not cultivate a relationship or mutual respect with Rodgers, as evidenced by blindsiding him with the Love pick. Rodgers also mentioned how the FO had unceremoniously kicked past greats (Nelson, Cobb) to the curb without giving them any recognition or respect for all they had done as Packers. This is just my interpretation, but I think it’s rooted in evidence. As another poster said, consider the fact that he is estranged from his family. He is clearly a man who follows his own principles closely, and it would seem there are certain “dealbreakers” that will result in him boxing you out.
  4. I may be mixing the year up, but my contribution: 2011 - Wayne Hunter
  5. I don’t post often, I’m usually just a reader around here. I just wanted to make a rare post and say: thank you KRL. I have always thoroughly enjoyed your camp reports.
  6. A lot of Jets fans were distraught after Carr signed with the Saints but I have been taking it as a signal that a deal with Rodgers is coming soon. If Rodgers were retiring or staying in GB it would’ve been announced already. Most likely reason for it to be dragging out is if a trade is occurring (which would also likely require a contract restructure — more details to figure out).
  7. $35M per year for Geno Smith is too much. I get the QB market has inflated, but how do you pay a career back-up that much after one good year? Happy for him, though!
  8. 1. It would be no different for literally any team that’s considering both Rodgers plus Carr. So if GB wants to maximize value, they need to work to move Rodgers before other teams start dropping out and grabbing other guys. 2. Saleh and Matt LaFleur are BFFs. Hackett and Rodgers are also pals. We will know what’s going on with Rodgers before a decision has to be made on Carr.
  9. A lot of these teams you mentioned are standing pat in 2023 in my opinion or at least have a good chance of doing so. So 2024 aside I think we won’t be competing with this long of a list of teams for available QB options in 2023 which is good news. Here is my breakdown: PIT - Pickens for sure gets a 2nd year as starter MIA - GM downplayed Tua’s injury risk. They are committed to him for next year GB - They will either play Rodgers or Love. My prediction is Rodgers gets traded but either way they won’t be looking for a QB DET - Goff had a top 10 season in basically every QB metric. He is coming back in 2023 LAR - Stafford is coming back for 2023 SEA - I’ve seen rumors they will tag Geno if they don’t come to a long-term deal. I think he stays there for 2023 WAS - To my surprise, there are reports that OC candidates have been told Howell will be the plan at starter. Not sure I 100% buy this but they may stand pat with him and draft a second tier guy HOU/IND - I have these two teams taking Stroud / Young. IND will trade up to #1 to leap frog HOU and take their first choice TEN may keep Tannehill and ATL may give Ridder a year as starter, so they are maybe’s in my book. The definite teams that will be competing for 2023 FA and trade targets (or the lower tier QB draft prospects) are us, LV, CAR, TB, and NO. 2024 could get more interesting but there are just so many unknowns that it’s hard to project out who will be looking for a QB after next season. There are surprise breakouts almost every season. Heck, a guy like Purdy could end up being a star for all we know.
  10. Ok one of those 3 starts you mentioned he played great until he left the game in the first quarter. Quoting 95 passing yards out of context like that is cheap. The supporting cast last year was much weaker. He played horribly against Buffalo but otherwise was good to OK in 2021. This year he has been much better and if not for a Berrios drop the public perception would be completely different.
  11. We’re talking about a guy with 6 starts. He was terrible against Buffalo in 2021. Outside of that, he’s looked like a solid QB and the offense has produced 400+ yards in most of his games. Is it impossible to think that a 27 year old QB who didn’t play football until senior year of HS and only started a portion of his time in college can continue to improve? I don’t think anyone will say he’s perfect but he has shown potential to me when watching the games. He passes the eye test in a way that most of our QBs have not since Pennington. I’d like to see him in the mix next year on a reasonable contract along with Zach and a mid-round draft pick.
  12. I have to say, seeing some of the overly negative Mike White takes from posters on this board has really disillusioned me. I am more of a reader than a poster but feel compelled to post more often, particularly when it comes to White, because the way some people talk about his performance is insane. It’s like we watch different games. He’s not perfect by any means but there’s way more to be excited about with MW than he’s getting credit for. The dude has 6 starts so he still has plenty to prove and hasn’t solidified his starter status (because he needs a larger body of work to judge him upon) but it’s really tiresome seeing how many Jets fans are acting like he doesn’t have a shot to be good. I understand it from NFL fans but it really irks me coming from our own. I get having hesitancy (again, he needs to keep it up) but what I don’t get are the people who entirely write him off or act like he has played poorly — he hasn’t. Even if you aren’t sold on him yet, give him a chance to show what he can do before you close the book on him for next year.
  13. Bingo. This is the likely scenario. Jets win 2 of the next 3 (DET, JAX, @SEA). Dolphins also win 2 of their next 3 (@BUF, GB, @NE) and Pats lose 2 of their next 4 (@ARI, @LV, CIN, MIA). This sets up a win-and-in scenario against the Dolphins in week 18 for both teams. Chargers are likely to go 3-1 at worst (TEN, @IND, LAR, @DEN). So unless they completely implode it now looks like they’ll claim a WC spot along with either the Ravens or Bengals (whoever doesn’t win the North). We are very much alive, and the chances appear pretty good that we’ll be alive in Week 18 unless we go 1-2 the next 3 weeks. And if we do, we don’t deserve to make the playoffs anyway.
  14. Nice perspective there. One of the things I like about White is that he beats the rush with his arm and not his legs which is a much more consistent solution. He’s shown solid pocket awareness thus far, and many want to knock him for not being “tested” by real pressure yet but the reality is his style of play is a big part of WHY he isn’t facing constant pressure.
