  1. I love Rodgers and everything he's given here but I cannot play the game of walking on eggshells to appease Rodgers. That is not how a team builds success. We have to stop doing incompetent sh*t.
  2. 100% correct. Just purely spot on. Impressed by Mike. I've seen more improvement from Francesa than Zach.
  3. Cut Zach Wilson. He is worth nothing. He is the worst QB I've ever seen start for the Jets. Cut him. Send him to Mars.
  4. Something bugs me about the way Zach plays football and I think I can now articulate part of it. He is not anticipatory. He waits until his targets are open to start making the throw. He does not lead his targets or see the play developing in advance. There was a play Zach had where he tried checking it down to Breece (who dropped it) and he had Garrett wide open 20 yards down the field. Zach saw Garrett open and then decided it might be a good time to throw it only to have a cowboys defender in his face. He got spooked, side stepped, and threw a checkdown. The long pass attempt to Garrett down the sideline last week that was intercepted. Garrett cleanly beat his man and was open in stride for 20 yards but Zach waited way too long and started his throw late which allowed the safety to come over and pick it off. Zach just cannot see routes develop. I remember watching Mike White tape and thinking back to how open all his targets looked. It's because Mike White threw while the route was developing. A great example is the TD pass he had to Elijah Moore vs the Colts. Moore ended up WIDE open but White started throwing when he was in lockstep with the CB because he knew Moore had speed advantage and would break from his man. This is why a guy like Mike White or Josh Johnson or Flacco or whoever can come in and throw for 300 yards while Zach consistently struggles to break 150.
  5. What do the Vikings get as compensatory for letting him walk? A 3rd round pick? So we are talking about a 2nd or higher for a 1 year rental. And Kirk's stats are good too, I assume other teams would be in the mix and they probably would have contract extension goals in mind and be willing to give up 1st rounders. Then there is Kirk's no-trade clause. He would waive it to go to the team he is getting an extension with. So many things would have to happen for it to make sense. We would need: No other teams would have interest Vikings willing to accept 2025 2nd rounder (We don't have a 2nd rounder in 2023) Kirk waive his no-trade clause Vikings to continue losing Jets to stay in contention up until deadline Maybe, MAYBE we could add something to the mix like Bryce Huff, Carl Lawson or Michael Carter to compensate for lack of draft capital. There is also the good problem to have, which is if he comes here and plays very well, do you extend Kirk and move on from Rodgers. Aaron is doing everything in his power right now to try and comeback as soon as possible. The Jets are expecting him to be back in 2024.
  6. Ok but you can still get a final answer on Zach Wilson and try out other QBs. If the reasoning is they don't want the optics of trying out other QBs to hurt Zach Wilsons' confidence, then his confidence is way too insanely fragile and he is not the QB.
  7. There are only 3 QBs that I would want to see the Jets realistically pursue. Carson Wentz Kirk Cousins Jameis Winston If you told me a QB that averages 3500 yards, 23 TDs and 7 INTs consistently each season was a FA right now I would not believe you. It is clear that there are some character concerns whether they were spread through fake rumors or actually are true. Maybe some time unemployed has changed him. Maybe Aaron will keep him in line. Maybe the rumors were fake. Just do the due dilligence. Kirk is the best option as a player but is going to cost capital for a 1 year rental and he won't be available until a few weeks from now. All of these QBs won't be playing for a few weeks from now actually since they have to be onboarded and Zach will be given the next few games anyway (and most likely fail). Jameis is the type of player you can succeed with if your defense is top 5 because he throws so many interceptions. He would probably break the Jets all time yardage and TD record if he had a full season. Pure gunslinger, Garrett Wilson would see maximum usage.
  8. I 100% agree but Zach will be starting until the bye. It's the reality of the situation. This is a product of the coaching staff's unwillingness to make changes until the season is over. We saw it last year when the Jets had 2 yards of offense in a 3-3 patriots game and instead of benching Zach and winning the game (and playoffs) he stuck with Zach. The coach is loyal to his players to a FAULT.
  9. Zach Wilson is a terrible QB. I truly believe that. He is not the answer. He is also not the reason we lost yesterday. He played as well as I have ever seen him play in the first 3 quarters. It was not "Great". It was not "Good" even. But it was better than he normally plays. It was game manager. Then he imploded. The QB is absolutely a problem but the OL is a bigger problem and the biggest. The defense will rebound. This OL is the worst in the league hands down. The line should absolutely be blown up into oblivion time to move positions of people like AVT to tackle and insert Tippman.
  10. Saleh and JD are 100% safe as long as Aaron Rodgers continues to play. There is NO way Woody would think its a good idea to start a coaching refresh and rebuild which would undoubtable cause Aaron to either retire or request a trade. This is the bed that Woody made himself. If the Jets go 1-16 this year, Saleh and JD Should be fired, but won't be.
  11. Are you saying this because you spent $250 on a Rodgers jersey? Because that's your fault. I NEVER buy a Jersey until it is known we have a long term stud. Anyone who bought Rodgers jerseys took a gamble. He is likely to still play again for us but so many people bought his jersey before he even played a snap or even played well. And if anyone owes you it's Woody Johnson and Joe Douglas for not installing a grass field and doing a piss poor job making an OL.
  12. Committing to Zach is one of the dumbest moves. You aren't going to get anyone to come out of retirement if they aren't sure they'll be starting. That entire faction of options is now out the window.
  13. If only Mike White wasn't on the ******* dolphins. I wonder what it would take to dangle in front of them to get him back. Probably not possible.
  14. Anyone who is a real fan knows that it's not this easy to switch teams. It gets engrained in your blood. Switching takes years and its unintuitively harder to switch to a team that's a superbowl favorite because the wins feel cheap and unearned.
