The Jets QB has recently been under a lot of pressure from his teammates for not performing well enough to win them games, despite stellar performances by the team's defense. That being said, the Jets have now decided to bench their 2021 second-overall pick for the foreseeable future in favor of backup QB Mike White. The 27-year-old quarterback lit up the league with his recent performance and is now looking to make the Jets' QB1 role his own. And by the looks of it, his teammates sure are happy about the change. Multiple Jets stars were seen sporting Mike White t-shirts as they prepared to board their plane for Minnesota to take on the high-flying Vikings. Dov Kleiman @NFL_DovKleiman #Jets players are clearly happy about the QB change, wearing Mike White shirts heading to their Week 13 game against the #Vikings https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1599116903808647168/pu/vid/720x720/e5bPG2rHvWIhRo8w.mp4?tag=124043 297 Some would argue that Zach Wilson has done very little to win over his teammates this season. Apart from his unflattering performances, the QB had recently refused to take any blame for his team's loss against the New England Patriots a few weeks back. Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner The Jets currently have a 7-4 record and are third in the highly competitive AFC East behind the likes of the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. White, while adored by Jets fans and players alike, has a tough task cut out for him this weekend against the Vikings, who sit top of the NFC North with a 9-2 record. Whether or not White can sustain his magic against the NFC franchise remains to be seen. But if he manages to lodge another three-touchdown performance in Week 13, things will surely get more difficult for Zach Wilson going forward. 2. Perspective is everything. This coach reviewed and saw the exact same things that the QB Film School coach did. Given that he is an opponent and has an ax to grind, his assessment was more strengths and weakess oriented. Hopefully, the JETS are as aware of these MW traits as the Vikings will be, and have devised a game plan which will allow him to avoid his kryptonite as much as possible.
  3. Thank you all! It was an epic birthday, topped of by this amazing surprise!
  4. I have a dear family friend here in Bermuda who runs a cookie business. She knows that I am an avid Jet fan and to surprise me for my birthday today… she made JET historical logo cookies. She is really talented and surprised me with such knowledge and attention to detail. If there is anyone on the planet that could appreciate these… it would be you, my NY JET Brothers!
  5. Considering he was battling TJ Watt most of the game , he looked like he did pretty well.
  6. That catch was the culmination of an amazing and brilliant play. Sauer ran the route where he sprinted down field 10-15 yards, stopped on a dime, faked left and/or right and literally pirouetted whilst jumping straight up in the air to catch the pass that only HE could catch. In that day, NOBODY was doing plays like that.
  7. One thing does not get talked about enough is Sam's ability to throw guys open. Most QBs have just enough talent to throw when a guy gets open. Sam has the vision and timing/coordination to throw guys open. This aspect of his game is huge. As long as our WRs can break the press man coverage and get off the line, they will see he ball. Plus, if the line can block for more than the paltry half seconds from last year, the routes might have time to open the field. With all of the speed and size that we have accumulated, coupled with both Herndon and Griffin, this team will cause matchup problems. This should provide reasonable opportunities for our young guys to learn whilst the vets can shine. Yes, this is a lot of IFs, but this is a helluva lot better than what we have seen for years.
  8. https://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/c-j-mosley-quinnen-williams-jets-injuries-1.36116238 Exactly! The guy sprained his ankle in the first game of the season and was in a walking boot. Kinda hard to show your speed and to anchor in the trenches with a high ankle sprain. If now fully healed and after a full year in an NFL strength program, we should finally see the beast that we drafted.
  9. Cincinnati drafted Willis, who does seem to be the the kind of freak the OP spoke of, ranking 13th of all 649 players drafted at that position over the last 20 years. That begs the question, why hasnt it translated to the field? By comparison, the Jets drafted a bunch of slugs. However, Adams talent has shown through...
  10. https://www.thehuddlereport.com/blog/?p=1046 I had never heard anything about this guy before reading this article, but if what he says comes true, Douglas has hit the ball out of the park! I originally voted Berrios, Smith and Doctson but changed my mind, switching Cager for Doctson (assuming that Cager is healthy).. Lawrence Cager WR Georgia by Drew Boylhart • April 6, 2020 STRENGTHS Lawrence is a tall, strong, fluid athlete. He has those long strides that make it very difficult for defensive backs to keep up with him despite the fact they may be faster. He has the athletic talent to adjust to the ball in the air and the excellent hands to catch those acrobatic, contested and difficult passes. Lawrence does a good job blocking for his teammates. He is a pass-catching machine in the red zone and will move the chains on third downs but what he brings with him is the ability to catch the deep ball in the air, above his defender when everyone in the stadium knows that the play is going to him. Lawrence is a clever and cagy route runner, using his size when he needs to but mostly, using his long legs and long strides to his advantage also. If a team is looking for a receiver to build your offensive passing game around than Lawrence should be on that team’s raider for sure. He as talent, that reminds me of Buccaneers Mike Evens. CONCERNS Lawrence has been hurt a lot, and although he has played with some injuries his medicals will be the one issue that will hold teams back from selecting him as high as I have him rated. He only played a few games this year for Georgia after transferring from Miami. That being said, he is the type of player that made the hair on the back of my head stand up the first time I saw him catch the ball. BOTTOM LINE 2.64 The team that selects Lawrence might have to Red Shirt him for a year and get this kid healthy. Then after that happens he will, of course, go through a learning phase and a competition level phase, and that could set him back a bit too. Of course, during all of that time, you have to hope he doesn’t get another injury that slows his future progress. Of course, if he does get injured at the next level you might not see this kid hit the field in his first contract years. Lawrence has talent like the Buccaneers WR Mike Evans. Mike was selected in the first round but he wasn’t injured and we had a normal Draft process that year so the medicals on Mike were completed. Add to that, the talent at the receiver position in this draft and you can see what Lawrence is up against. As far as I’m concerned if, his ankle injury that kept him off the field for most of the 2019 year for Georgia, is not a chronic issue than selecting him as early as the first round would be a given. But this year everything is in flux so let’s take a hard look at what most teams are looking at if they want to select Lawrence. First of all, there is a lack of production and more than one injury that cannot be confirmed how they will affect his play in the future. That being said, Lawrence does have the size, strength, hands, and overall athletic talent to move the chains, catch the deep ball, and be a weapon in the red zone. You do the math and come up with a round you would select Lawrence in. Remember, if he is healthy, he has the potential to be the Offensive Rookie of the year. I’m on record here and I say second round.
  11. Apparently, no other collegiate WR caught more contested passes than Mims from 2017-2019.
  12. Thanks! How did you do that? Can you pls send me a sidenote. Much appreciated!
  13. Also, there is this vid of his route running: https://youtu.be/IXL8KiiXkHE
