#2284074 Mike Goodson Arrested: MERGED (UPDATED WITH CHARGES)

Posted by NJ on 21 May 2013 - 08:13 PM

Truth be told, I wouldn't be surprised if that bonus money is the one thing keeping him around at this point.

So the prospect of an injured Ivory with Joey Mc and Powell racking up some mid field yards and no touchdowns isn't scary? If I'm responsible for gathering the talent that helps the Jets win football games, I'm pretty uneasy with that picture and then I think of Sanchez and call my doc for some Xanax.

#2282860 Mike Goodson Arrested: MERGED (UPDATED WITH CHARGES)

Since I'm a jersey cop (now working in a dept right next to Denville...no more inner city for me), I can answer some of the generalities. But the specifics are a no-no, sorry.
On whether a legally registered gun would be ok in this situation: he would have to get cleared through NCIC, get a purchasers permit and jump through some more hoops to get a gun legally in NJ. this takes an average of 4 to 6 months. Not likely the gun was legal. The driver would be unable to own a registered hand gun due to prior felony conviction. But, if the gun was legal, he would ned a concealed carry permit to have it on his person. These are given rarely and are generally reserved for PIs and ex cops. So the weapon is likely illegal, and being carried illegally.
On the hollow points : bullets are legal of course, as they can be used in hunting and target shooting. Handguns are generally not acceptable hunting weapons (with a few minor exceptions) and therefore the bully's needed are what we call "ball ammo". Hollow points are used only in handguns and only for situations where the target is made of flesh and bone. They are for stopping people. Nothing else. This is why they are military and law enforcement only. Someone said they pierce vests and that is inaccurate. A hollow point is for stopping power. The round mushrooms upon impact with flesh, and fragments when it hits bone. It's larger diameter can't usually punch through a vest. There are tow handgun rounds that can pierce a vest. But I'm not sharing that. Armour piercing rounds are obviously another story and any rifle round will go through and through.
On charges: illegal possession of a weapon, illegal possession of a weapon during the commission go a crime (drug possession...but depends on the degree, only works for indictable offenses) DUI, obviously, possession of CDS, lots of title 39 motor vehicle offenses) other charges could follow once the gun is traced (likely a stolen and trafficked gun as they all are on the street).
Possession of the weapon is dependent on several factors. If the weapon was on the person of one, its considered in his possession. If its in a common area within access of both, and neither cops to it, it is considered constructive possession and they both get charged. Hope this helps.

Thanks bro  - very much appreciate your professionalism.

Jordan White and Demario Davis are the two things I am mad at Rex for last year.  They should have so much more game film on those two, not giving them every snap the last 6 weeks just made no sense.

See ... you just had no faith in Mark. All you had to do was listen to Rex when he said Mark was his guy and believe in it with him. Mark could have got us back into all those games so we had to grind it out on D ... if he just wasn't so horribly inept....

If Richardson is a perennial pro bowler  - he's still going to be $8mm a year cheaper then Revis

I like him a lot. Tremendous athletic skills.

Something sharp or something heavy? I've become pretty good at tube TV's over the years, but new to the technology. Just prepping up for a Matt Barkley demolition.

Revis, when healthy, neutralizes a great WR not a great QB.

That has a lot of value, but not $16M per year every year value.

ding ding ding ding .... we have the winning summarization of the situation.

Also .... thank God he's at least a few seasons removed from us .... we may not have reached the bottom yet as the joke of professional sports franchises and this would have served as a huge kick further down the stairs.

Big loss ... used to see him at the Billy Goat on occasion ... He pioneered the way we currently get a heads up on  movies before we spend the time and money.

#2258435 RIP Alvin Lee

What's up, NJ?  Tell me Watt is not one of the great, underrated, records from that era.

Watt was/is like a nuclear reactor of rock. Alvin was power leads but clean picks .. saw him a couple times in the 70's and almost had him at our town event 10 years ago. We had a great day of vintage British rock planned with TYA, Savoy Brown, and Wishbone Ash. Before Alvin's mgmt inked the contract, one of the other bands put the 3 bands together on their website and his manager got real pissy and started talking legal action so we told them to stay home. I was bummed to say the least but the other boys kicked azz as usual and we went 180 and hired Debbie Harry/Blondie to take his spot and headline. Great day of music but Alvin's presence was missed.
