  1. The knock on Latham is he gets flagged a lot for holding. Hopefully some good coaching in the NFL, can refine his technique enough to where it's not such a problem. Not my first choice, but I'd live with it if we took him.
  2. @#27TheDominator I'm not a draft fanatic like some here & I won't pretend to be one. That said, from what I've read it's Alt 1, Fuaga 2, with some debate over number 3, between Fautanu, Fashanu & Lathum. I've seen some top 25 boards, that have Lathum rated ahead of Fautanu & Fashanu. Not saying that I agree - but those assessments are out there. If your asking my opinion, Alt, Fuaga & Fautanu would be what I'd consider the top 3, in that order.
  3. Considering we don't have a full compliment of draft picks this year, I agree with you that it's probably unlikely.
  4. Highly unlikely that he'll be there at 10. If the Jets really want him, they'd almost certainly have to trade up. As far as going OL if he's not there, I agree with you.
  5. If the top 3 WR's are gone and one of the top 3 OT's is still there, the Jets have to go OT. To do otherwise, under those circumstances, would be negligent, on a couple of different levels. I do agree 2 WR's in this draft would be prudent, as would 2 quality O-Lineman. Probably a developmental QB & a safety, in the later rounds.
  6. Spot on @slats Our 2 greatest positions of need. OL & WR. Safety would be my 3rd position of need.
  7. As long as we get OL & WR depth, I'm good however it plays out. Just don't want to see Bowers picked by us at 10, I just don't think he's worth a top ten pick.
  8. This is all pre-draft hype & posturing; Taking it FWIW, which is a grain of salt.
  9. NFL Player News: Latest Reports, Injuries, Transactions - Rotoworld - NBC Sports - NBC Sports Jets traded QB Zach Wilson and a 2024 seventh round pick to the Broncos in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick. The real story here may be the phenomenally down-bad quarterback room that is being constructed in Denver. Wilson joins the likes of Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci in the Mile High City, forming a trio that’s sure to instill confidence in any defense they face in a given week. Of course, the Broncos are still expected to add a quarterback of note at some point in this week’s NFL Draft, but the optics are hilarious for the time being. Wilson, who was drafted by the Jets with the No. 2 overall pick in 2021, was given ample opportunities to succeed over the last three years but consistently fell well short of the mark for being even a passable NFL quarterback. For better or worse, head coach Robert Saleh stuck by Wilson until it was just no longer reasonable to do so. He was eventually benched in favor of Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian after going 4-7 over 11 starts, spelling what would be the eventual end of his time in New York. Boasting a line of 6293-23-25 over 34 career games, Wilson is officially a reclamation project who may not have more than a summer to prove to Sean Payton that he can contribute to an NFL franchise. According to The Athletics’ Dianna Russini, the Broncos had been eyeing a potential trade for Wilson for weeks, and they believe he still has “tons of talent and potential.” The Jets will reportedly pay close to $2.75 million of Wilson’s salary for the upcoming season.
  10. I like this scenario: https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2024/04/22/bill-barnwells-hypothetical-trade-sees-jets-deal-with-raiders-gain-second-round-pick/ Barnwell suggested a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, who sit at No. 13, as there could still be a scenario in which Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is still on the board when the Jets are on the clock at No. 10. The advantage there for the Jets is that the three teams right behind them on the board (No. 11 Vikings, No. 12 Broncos, No. 13 Raiders) all need long-term quarterback solutions. Of the three, only the Raiders have a second-round pick to send to the Jets. The Vikings do have No. 23 in the first round, but they likely would not send that pick just to move up one spot from 11 to 10. So in this case, the Jets drop down three spots and get a second-round pick (No. 44). The Jets also acquire second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell in the deal. The Jets are going to move on from Zach Wilson at some point and O’Connell would get a chance to develop as the No. 3 quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor and eventually become the backup. O’Connell has some flashy moments as a rookie last season in what was a rough situation.
  11. Easily accomplished if we trade down and I'm sure that will largely depend on how the early goings of the first round play out.
  12. I hate to say this, but this had a lot more to do with Tom Brady than BB. Belichick is a competent head coach (Particularly on the defensive side of the ball) but Tom Brady made that Patriots franchise what it is, not Belichick. How many rings did BB win without Brady as his QB? What's Belichick's W/L record w/o Brady - pretty pedestrian. Belichick has a record of just 82-98 without Brady as his quarterback after the 2023 NFL season. That's good for a winning percentage of just . 463 and pales in comparison to what Belichick has achieved with his long-time quarterback. Yes, the Hoodie is under a .500 win percentage w/o Tom Brady. Brady then went to Tampa Bay and won another ring w/o Belichick. I've always despised Tom Brady, because of his arrogance (something he & BB had in common) but you can't take anything away from his NFL accomplishments, many of which, Belichick & Kraft were the direct benefactors of and they're also the primary reason why, the Patriots were the most dominant NFL franchise of the 2000's.
  13. If the offense can ever catch up to the defense, they will be.
