  1. I've followed this team for the better part of 45 years and I know there are many here, that have followed the Jets longer than I have. Players & coaches make up the team and in large part, their talents directly effect the product that's put on the field. That being said, until this teams gets new ownership, the dark cloud that's been hovering over this franchise for decades will continue to persist. Woody Johnson is the problem - it all starts at the top.
  2. You guys need to keep in mind, CD is still only 28 years old, so he's not exactly over the hill, even by NFL standards. This is was what jumped out at me, from that Heavy.com article: The Door Was Left Open for a Possible Jets Comeback Head coach Robert Saleh gathered his team to break the news that Davis was stepping away from football. During his speech to the team, Saleh left the door open for a potential Davis return at some point in the future. “I do encourage all of you guys to give him a call, let him know that we still love him. It doesn’t mean his career is over, the door is always open for him to come back. I’m imploring all of you guys to reach out to him and show him some love. As of now he’s stepping away from the game,” Saleh explained on “One Jets Drive.” Seems to me that there is a legit chance, that CD comes back this season.
  3. How have you been TS? It's been a while my friend.

  5. Every time I come back here, there are more & more changes, which is a good thing I guess. I've been away from the forum for a few years, but most of the old-timers here, probably still remember me, so, I'm not going to bother with the whole introduction thing. I moved from Florida a year ago, after living there for almost 30 years & relocated to Southeast Alabama. Have a house, a cabin, a big shop & a Pond that's about 1.5 acres, loaded with Bass, Channel Catfish & Bluegills, which is fed by 2 spring-fed creeks, on 32 acres of land, where I can't see my closest neighbor. What a refreshing change it's been. Just glad I made the move, while I'm still young enough to get around & enjoy it. Anyway, it's good to still see some familiar names floating around & I look forward to catching up with everyone, as time permits. Al
  6. Duane Brown to return to practice this week (usatoday.com) From within the article: Rich Cimini @RichCimini Saleh indicates that LT Duane Brown is one of their best 5 OLM, adding that his shaky performance early in the year might have been due to rushing him back from his rehab. He adds that Brown is in good shape. Reading between the lines, it sounds like Becton-to-right tackle isn't off the table. #Jets 10:59 AM · Nov 1, 2023 · 164K Views
  7. I'm confident in Quincy Williams & CJ Mosely keeping him in check.
  8. He's not recovering from off-season surgery like Cook was, so, hopefully that won't be the case.
  9. Where there's smoke, there's fire: I wouldn't mind if he came back.
  10. It's not even about the number of deaths or dying from COVID 19; Look at what mono did to Sam (and the Jets season) last year - a disease nowhere near as serious as COVID 19. Do we really want him putting himself at risk when he/they could have picked a safer location to mitigate the risk? I've read a documented case back in March, where a 30 yr old male nurse, with no underlying health conditions, was put in the ICU for almost a month, on a ventilator, while battling this virus. While he did survive, he describes himself as being at death's doorstep during the worst of it. Once you have this virus, you have it for life - there is no cure, (The vaccines that are in the works are simply to help relieve the symptoms - not a cure for the virus) which means you're more susceptible to other viruses & lung related issues down the road,; This is a documented fact and those who have done their research in depth, know that. Why take that kind of risk? Sam doesn't need another season where he misses part of the season - or worst case, a whole season, due to illness, when smarter decision making could have gone a long way toward mitigating the risk. Heck, I don't want to see any Jets players have to deal with that kind of season altering/life altering setback. I understand we have a couple of members of the forum, dealing with this disease as we speak and I hope they are doing well & hanging in there; My prayers go out to them. Look at what's happening with the Dallas Cowboys & Houston Texans as we speak; https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/15/us/dallas-cowboys-houston-texans-coronavirus-spt-trnd/index.html
