  1. Best case scenario for the Jets is that there are multiple QB injuries in other camps, and teams have to dumpster dive in order to round out their QB room.
  2. I was in a bar that Monday night with one eye watching Dinosaur Jr and the other watching the tv, so I can't tell you what he was thinking.
  3. In Super Bowls he has a steely eyed disposition. His first plays with the Jets he is nervous because he his trying to impress Jetnation. Makes sense.
  4. I break my golden rule of never taking any of your posts on this board seriously, and I get my just desserts in the end. I deserve that.
  5. It would be so Jets to draft a qb top 10, then string along Rodgers for 3 years and waste that pick.
  6. When you get what you want in your struggle for self And the world makes you king for a day Just go to a mirror and look at yourself And see what that man has to say For it isn't your father, mother or wife Whose judgment upon you must pass The fellow whos verdict counts most in your life Is the one staring back from the glass Some people may think you are straight-shootin' chum And call you a wonderful guy But if the man in the glass says you're only a bum If you can't look him straight in the eye He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest For he's with you clear up to the end And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test If the man in the glass is your friend You may fool the whole world down the pathway of life And get pats on the back as you pass But your final reward will be heartaches and tears If you've cheated the man in the glass -- Bill Parcells to his team when departing on January 3, 1999 Originally called, 'Guy in the Glass' by Dale Wimbrow
  7. I have not read one post in this thread, but I would like to congratulate this forum on getting this to 25 pages without it being locked. When I first stumbled across this topic, I gave it 5 minutes lasting. Great job guys!!!
  8. For me, the worse of the 2 trades was the Seaver trade. The Ryan trade was made in an attempt to make the ball club better. The Mets through their entire history to that point had been unable to develop a 3rd baseman. They thought Fregosi could plug that gap and extend what looked like a contending club for the near term future. The Seaver trade was made by an ignorant and belligerent Chairman of the Board, M. Donald Grant, that had no business meddling in personnel decisions. It was done to be cheap and it escalated to a feud that should not have happened like that. Then to involve Dick Young to help promote that Seaver was the one being petty was pure villainous. And, they got pennies on the dollar. Pure stupidity.
  9. Will definitely get that. Love that stuff. Thanks, 314!!!
  10. I don't want my GM to be an accountant. I want my GM to be a strong personnel evaluator who hires strong accounts that can wrangle the complexities of the cap. Is Douglas that personnel guy? Magic 8 Ball says "Reply Hazy, Try again".
